Wanee line up announced

Seeing and hearing them grow as a band has been one of the highlights of 2017 for me. They are a band now, now longer a "project". Been seeing the Black Crowes for 25 years and I have never seen Rich smile so much on stage. And seeing Marc happy and healthy playing this music is so great.
I try not to get caught up in the drama, but if Chris and Rich are the parents, and the black crowes catalog songs are the children, and this is a custody battle, Rich and the Magpie Salute deserve full custody with no visitation rights. Chris has bashed the Black Crowes and the Magpie Salute at any opportunity he has been given over the last 2 years. For the record, I like CRB alot, but let Rich carry the legacy of the Crowes forward from here.
I cannot wait to hear what the Magpie Salute comes up with in the studio this winter. This band's potential is limitless.
Put me down for this. All of it.

I really enjoy The Magpie Salute, but I like Luther era live Crowes best - as much as I love Marc Ford, I like Luther better and he's only been improving it seems. Chris Robinson, with Luther, MacDougald, and maybe Audley Freed playing Crowes tunes even as a one-off sounds like fun to me.

I’m excited about the wanee lineup Two nights of Phil Lesh. The band Phil assembled over Halloween was amazing. I hear St Paul and the Broken Bones is awesome. Dark star orchestra, Chris Robinson, north Mississippi all-stars. Karl Denson and pink talking fish both doing the Allmans should be special. Pigeons playing ping pong will be a blast. I’ve always wanted to see sonny landerth and Walter Trout. Trout’s last album is pretty solid.
New Orleans suspects are really good, and Big Something is one of my favorite. Les bros, Marcus King..... all amazing.
Anything black crowes related would be the next biggest band on that list after Panic & Phil Lesh. I suspect Chris was wanted to be in the limelight a little more than where he’s been with his band and that’s why he opted for this spin off so quickly after bashing magpie salute. Phil would be a great guest, as would jimmy herring or Luther Dickerson. Audley is a bad fit.
I’ve never been to the 420 fest in Atlanta but I can hardly imagine a better place to see a music festival than the Spirit of Swanee Music Park - so I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything.
Where is Warren Haynes? Where is Devon Allman? I was certain devon would be playing with Duane Betts. It’s a shame I don’t see Ben Sparaco’s name anywhere. Would love to see him sit in with everyone.

Audley is a bad fit.
You know Audley was a member of The Black Crowes, right? IMO, that man is such a pro that he literally isn't a bad fit anywhere you put him.

I was trying to be polite. If I had my pick I’d prefer somebody like Luther Dickerson, Jimmy Herring, Warren Haynes, Jack Pearson, Derek Trucks - even Ben Sparaco. No offense to Audley, he just doesn’t do it for me.
