Wanee 2015 !!!

Helen's Hilton is no doubt all setup and providing hospitality.
Campground is slowly filling up, lots of open space now - soon to be jam packed.
Folks are all stocked up with supplies, starting to settle and relax.
Lots and lots of folks packing up and beginning their trip to Live Oak.

Cool Sang! That was late night last night, what is on your music agenda today?

Got here a couple hours ago.. Checking out Royal southern brotherhood now and they are delivering as always.. Can not wait for hot tuna electric and a late night pink talking fish set my only complaint so far is security. They are not allowing backpacks in the festival period. Empty, camel bag, or full of your supplies to keep your baby clean and happy. Doesn't matter, no two strapped bags. Please someone correct me if I am wrong but my buddy had to walk back to the camp site because he had a bag... A BAG.. That they wouldn't allow in.

Other than that wanee is still full of the same great music and people that it had been the previous ten years.

Great Charlie wooton yonrico Scott percussion breakdown goin on now.

Saw a little bit of Juke - they were pretty good. Jacob Jeffries was ok. Bobby Lee Rodgers was good as always - hard to stay seated during 'Ike Stubblefield'.....Left early to get back to the Hilton for the world famous low country boil....one of my favorite meals! Back for Royal Southern Brotherhood ....and did they bring it....if I saw it right, Devon proposed to his girlfriend right before the One Way Out closer... Then Raw Oyster Cult - players from New Orleans bands like the Radiators......they were very good. Electric Hot Tuna still sounds great. I only stayed for a few songs from Pink Talking Fish.... interesting concept and good light show in the trees. Started with Pink Floyd In the Flesh into Phish Wilson and then the Taking Heads Life Before Wartime - which got the crowd going - then into Time from Floyd..... I left after that.
We had a little light rain, but not too bad. Worried about tomorrow - supposed to storm in the afternoon, and a lot of my favorites are playing then - The Word, Zappa Plays Zappa, Earth Wind & Fire, and the Mule. Hoping the storm misses us.....

I hope you guys got a nice "Good Shepherd" from Hot Tuna!
Have a great Wanee!!!

Radar looks like a possible soaking coming their way - hope it goes around, but hey, all part of the Wanee experience 😉

No rain today!
Watched a little bit of Twiddle - they were pretty good. Then over to see Bobby Lee Rodgers. Jaimoe's band was very good... I stayed longer than I had planned. I went over to hear Rich Robinson, but ended up in the HTN tent renewing my subscription. Then came The Word. They were very good, but I was a little tired and was spacing in and out. Next up was Earth Wind & Fire. I enjoyed them, but left after half an hour to see Zappa Plays Zappa. I stayed for their entire set, and it was killer. Especially loved that they played Whipping Post....
Then over to see the Mule - I missed the first part. They played a dub side version of The Joker from Steve Miller that I didn't really care for. They of course played Soulshine for Lee with Tupelo Honey in the middle. They ended with Trying to Break Up Somebody's Home - not enough real Mule songs for my taste....
Saw a couple songs by Leftover Salmon which didn't do much for me. Then back to the main stage for Panic. Traveling Light was good, but the rest sounded like long jamming and I didn't know the songs (and I like Panic). So I headed back to the Hilton and finished off the show there.
Special thanks to the Hilton - they had a benefit breakfast for Capt Skipper, and also had a silent auction with all the money going to Skip and Renee. Very cool, and quite a few of us were wearing our Capt Skipper Remasters shirts.....

Thanks for the update Sang!

I really appreciate these updates too Sang.
Keep 'em coming when you can.

Thanks, Sang. You're making me regret not being there. All of it except the rain.
I've been watching the storm headed east. I hope everyone there has safe travels to wherever they came from. Good Luck, Don. It looks to be packing a whollup.
