For me its; Brothers in Arms, Dire Straits
Maybe one of the finest recordings I've heard.

Funny you mention vinyl, I just got a new turntable a couple of weeks ago for Father's Day and have pulled out some vinyl I haven't heard in a while. Currently on the turntable is The Who, Who's Next. In heavy rotation has been Jethro Tull's Aqualung, The Who's Live at Leeds and The Stones Exile on Main Street.

I've got Brothers in Arms and I need to pull it out tonight.

"Skate away, that's all"

Cued it up yesterday and got sidetracked, so putting on play now:

Workingman's Dead

Have not played in many years in any form. This and American Beauty (even more particularly) were recorded and mixed in big fat warm analog and really shine on big speaker old school set up from vinyl.

^^^
true, true

American Beauty is one of the best studio albums ever recorded.

I picked up the 180 gm vinyl reissue box of the 1st 5 GD studio albums a few years ago, well worth it, especially considering the wear and tear that Workingman's and AB saw over the years.

A musical highlight of my life was seeing Phil & Friends perform those 2 albums - about 10 years ago.

American Beauty also has very special meaning to me. At her request, we had 2 people come and play Ripple and Brokedown Palace at my wife's funeral. Very touching, very appropriate.

Found a new 180 gram copy of AB the Saturday before Christmas last year @ Lunch box records in Charlotte. was Christmas shopping for my daughter & Son in Law. One of those presents I really wanted to keep for myself. They were thrilled with it and usually let me know when they are spinning it. Walked into rainbow records in Anderson SC in May looking for something else and there waiting for me was another new 180 gram copy of AB. At sometime during every week since I have given it a spin. One of my all time favorites. I could listen to Ripple every day. Have been really enjoying the recent releases of Play All Night, 2nd Set, and Back Where It all Begins on vinyl lately as well.

I never stopped playing vinyl. Just bought a new needle a few months ago. Still have all of my records including 45s that go back to 1961 when I bought them at 11 years old.
