Those two were 1,454 feet above street level. They were literally higher than Jimi ever got!! 
I've was on the 103 floor, one floor higher than the public is usually allowed, in the 1950's and my dad and I refused our invitation to step out onto this circular porch which ringed the 103 floor. There is a 104th floor attic above that and the antenna spire was attached to the top of that in 1950. My dad was in electronics and an Acoustic Research dealer. AR had a sound proof demo room in Grand Central Station back then and we were invited up by a couple of RCA engineers.
These folks I understand slipped up to the 103'and 104 levels without permission and broke open a lock somehow to get out an access door to the base of the spire ( TV antenna) and they climbed to the very top of the spire without safety equipment in complete violation of federal regulations.
