Tulsa Allman Family Revival cancelled

This morning I get an email about the show from the ticket company with Covid/mask info.
Then at 5 tonight I get an email saying the show is cancelled due to “unforeseen circumstances”. I’m totally devastated. This was the Jam of the Year!! Anybody know why?? Devon’s FB page is silent. Could this be to poor ticket sales??

Man, sorry to hear that joe. With COVID and Influenza starting to pick up maybe someone got sick?
Hope they reschedule for you.

As I suspected the cancelations are COVID related.
I feel bad for those with tickets as I know how much I looked forward to the Boston show but the good news is they will reschedule for 2022.
Hopefully COVID not as big an issue then.

They have a COVID outbreak and cancelled the rest of the tour. Other dates were rescheduled, but not Tulsa. It must not have fit with routing/schedules. There are a lot of people on this tour and the more people, the more opportunities for spread.

Does anyone have an update on the 12/31 show in Macon? I had plans to travel in and stay for a couple of days. Thanks in advance if anyone has information.

Wow. I looked at tix for a few of the last shows in Detroit & Chicago and there were a ton of seats available and the prices dropped like a box of rocks. I figured that may have been the case for a smaller city like Tulsa.
Too bad it was COVID related. This damn thing won't go away.

Boston was showing a lot of unsold tickets the day before the show and it was very full by show time, at least the orchestra was packed. Maybe there are day of show walk ups?

No idea but I am glad I skipped the Chicago show. That had to be one of the last ones. It was Sunday.

Yeah, The Omicron variant is spreading fast and is more contagious. Evidently people who are fully vaccinated are getting it although the cases are relatively mild for those vaccinated.
Cornell University had over 900 cases last week and most were fully vaccinated so looks like this is the new norm even if vaccinated.

So sorry to hear this. As someone who got to go to the first show I can tell you that everyone who attended that night had to go through a double screening process to enter the venue. I'm not sure what is occurring with Band and special tour guests, but I'd agree with being on the side of safety these days than not. Hope who ever bought tix to shows does wind up getting a chance to see the tour once it resumes. Peace and Good Vibesl to all!

For the Boston show you had to be vaxed and wear a mask to get into the theater but once inside most people just took them off and the staff did not seem to care so no social distancing at that show.

The vaccine wasn't as effective as one would hope against Delta and the new variant is worse. The Pfizer is only 33% effective against the new variant. That is lousy. Not much protection. I got Pfizer in January and February and a booster in September but it's more likely than not I will still get it if exposed.
A good friend with two Pfizer early in the year ended up on a ventilator in October and almost died. They told him that apparently after 5 or 6 months there isn't much protection so he got the booster just before his discharge from the hospital.
This isn't like a flu shot. I've never caught the flu after a flu shot. These vaccines for Covid are disappointing but it's all we have other than masks.
The Brothers show in NYC was my last big show. I saw Allman Betts October 2020 at a drive up show. Still afraid to see a show indoors. I have no underlying conditions. I took my walk and slow jog up a modest hill this morning. But I'm 75 years old now. So the virus may knock me on my butt even with THREE Pfizer shots.
I feel for those who had their shows cancelled. It's such a let down when that happens. But at my age I'm afraid to go anyway. If the vaccine was more robust I would. But unfortunately they didn't knock it out of the park with the Covid vaccination. I heard Pfizer is working now on a improvement and there is a pill if taken within 3 days of exposure that is 89% effective against serious illness but the FDA hadn't approved it as of this morning.
Yes if people in the show have it, Devon and Duane and the others would too sooner or later.

@robertdee The vaccines are working, the virus is simply mutating and trying to stay alive. It speaks to the severity of the virus. Vaccines weren't going to eradicate COVID like a magic bullet, just as flu vaccines don't eliminate the flu (you might contract the flu after a flu vaccines and simply not know it). The vaccines have kept cases from being worse through the Delta variant over the summer, which is evident from the amount of un-vaccinated people who suffered from worse symptoms and a higher mortality rate. Omicron seems to be breaking through vaccinated and boosted people but still vaccines are mitigating the severity. A good friend of mine who is vaxxed and boosted works in emergency rooms just tested positive the other day and her only symptoms were loss of smell. The cases went down and a lot of people take for granted that COVID is still out there.

@porkchopbob Okay. I'm Pfizer vaccinated. One in late January. Second in early February and the booster in September. As far as I know, I haven't caught it.
Hopefully then if I do catch it the symptoms will be mild. I've had THREE shots of Pfizer.
Yeah this isn't like the polio vaccine I got in the mid 1950's or other vaccines for childhood diseases. One and you are done for life.
I've never caught the flu after my yearly flu shot but it has to be repeated every year and the virus is different each year from mutation or something.
Hopefully this will end next year or through good yearly vaccines it can be managed as HIV is now.
Shockingly the US has suffered more Covid deaths this year than last year. 800,000 since this began.
I've seen pictures of all the people wearing masks in 1918. I would have never imagined being back to that here 103 years later with modern medicine.
Thankfully we had a lot of great music recorded to watch and listen to.

Not sure why people insist the vaccine is not working. It was never claimed it would prevent you from getting COVID only that it would reduce symptoms and likelihood of requiring hospitalization.
Even with a vaccination there was risk of breakthrough infections which has increased as the virus mutates. Much like the influenza vaccine Big Farma will need to adjust COVID vaccines to account for the mutations and we may need to get boosters more often than once a year.
Everyone's immune system is different so for the unvaccinated some my not need hospitalization while others may die from COVID.
My brother in law is not vaccinated and has had COVID twice. Lucky for him it was like having a bad case of the flu so he did not have to be hospitalized.
My wife was fully vaccinated but still caught COVID. She had mild symptoms and recovered in less than a week as if she had Influenza so the vaccine most likely reduced the impact of the virus.
Based on the stats you are less likely of dying or being hospitalized if fully vaccinated compared to not being vaccinated. There will be a small percentage of individuals who were vaccinated that still suffer serious complications but the percentage is greatly reduced if you are vaccinated. Those are the facts based on real life statistics.
Same goes for the Influenza vaccine. Just because you are vaccinated does not mean you can't catch the flu. I did not get vaccinated for years and never got sick. I have been getting vaccinated since 2004 when my oldest daughter was born.
My oldest is vaccinated against influenza and still got the flu this past weekend. While she has a fever her symptoms have been mild so I am speculating this is due to the being vaccinated.
I wish people would listen to science instead of all the "fake news" floating about that vaccines are some government plot or are not effective or safe and just get vaccinated. If not for yourself do it for the rest of us you are exposing to risk.

Apparently not. I just received a text from their camp stating that the the Macon show is on and there are tickets available. This situation seems strange to me if there was a COVID issue. I think the Dickinsons will be there. Hmm...

@lee very strange indeed! they rescheduled 4 shows so far

I checked macon and like Boston only about half the tickets have sold. Maybe there will be last minute or walkup as the Boston Orpheum was pretty full by show time.
Wish I lived closer as the Macon City Auditorium looks like an interesting place to see a concert.
