Any ideas on a decent boozer close to the Palladium were we can all meet for snacks and beers before the show. Colin, over to you my friend.

Hi Mike … there are lots of boozers in the area, but the four closest to the Palladium are as follows …

The Argyll Arms … this is the closest, being just 50 metres or so up Argyll Street adjacent to Oxford Circus tube station, but because of this it can be very busy.

O’Neills … on the corner of Great Marlborough Street and Carnaby Street.

Shakespeares Head … just down from O’Neills on the corner of Carnaby Street and Foubert Place.

The Clachan … which is in Kingly Street down the right hand side of Liberty’s shop.

Whilst all of these pubs can get very busy as this is such a popular tourist and shopping area, I think that The Clachan might be the best bet as it is down a side road.

Any of our London residents got an opinion? Gordon? Barry?

Anybody staying over and wants a post-party I can recommend this http://www.theheavyloadclub.com/

I have a family do on the Sunday, so I'm on the 11:30pm train home, so won't be going. Happy to go wherever beforehand. I'm getting in to London around 2ish. The pheonix that hosts heavy load looks as if it does good grub, and it's off the tourist trail a bit as well, but still reasonably close.

Looks like a great pub for music Gordon, but according to tripadviser it gets busy and none of the reviews mention eating there, so not sure if do they do food?

Jan and I will be driving down to a hotel in Finsbury Park then coming to the Palladium area at about 5:30 and will need to eat, so unless food is available I would favour either The Clachan or The Phoenix (as Jim suggested) to meet up at.

ANBTB is small and I don't think they do food.

The Clachan gets a good review in my guide, as does the Argyll Arms but the latter is probably going to be busier.

The Clachan has a better selection of beers too.
