I started heading to NYC and the Beacon in 2006 and was fortunate to be there in both March and October in 2014. I pulled the trigger for tics this Friday and Saturday for TTB at the Beacon and for the first time will fly from Cleveland instead of the 7 plus hour drive. I suspect that this will go a long way toward filling the void left from the ABB breakup. Seeing Derek on that stage should make all things right in the world - at least for a night or two. Surprised there is not that much chatter on this site about these shows.

I'm going next Friday, the Scrapomatic show. I can't wait, it will be the 4th TTB show of the year for me and it does more than just fill the ABB hole - each TTB show is so much different and more amazing than the last. I'm really hoping to hear maybe a taste of the Joe Cocker Lockn' set, but I'll take whatever TTB is throwing down. I am really loving their mini-Beacon runs, they always sneak up on me after the summer concert season. I was at 2 shows last year, one of which was the Taj Mahal/Jerry Douglas show, and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

This is the preeminent touring band today. We are lucky that they came together basically as an offshoot of the Allmans. Unparalleled music and people to match. Certainly are carrying the torch.

I'm heading to this Friday's show and looking forward to it. Los Lobos should also be fun and hopefully lead to some nice collaborative music.

Headed up next Friday, Scrapomatic opener. I've caught one show on each of their Beacon runs so far. Looking forward to it. Their sound has definitely evolved into something very interesting in the last couple of years. I see them anytime I have a chance.

These shows slipped up on me. I'll plan better next year. TTB at the Beacon are well worth the 5.5 hour train ride.

Bradley is awesome. We saw him open for Trombone Shorty about a year ago. He's something else . . .

I am in the middle of doing something sweet for Mama. We celebrated our 26th anniversary in August and I bought 3 sets of tickets for the TTB Beacon shows. One for my son to take her (last night), I take her for tonights show, and next Friday I drive my wife and daughter to drop off and go get lost for a couple hours (probably the village) and come pick them back up afterwards. Last night is the start of it all and Mama had a great time.

I love the inclusion of Jimmie Vaughan. Nice (and thanx for posting)

Anyone know why Cesar Rosas was missing from Los Lobos last night? Really enjoyed the show and having Hidalgo sit in w/ TTB was very nice!

The second song was Boom-Bapa-Boom, from Jimmies debut record - Strange Pleasure.

Interesting story from Saturday night. My bro in law and I had great seats in Orch 6th row on left side. At break after Charles Bradley we wandered up to front row to cross to the other side of theater just to take it all in. Got talking to two folks center front row who had won tics from radio station who told us seats next to them had been empty for C Bradley and suggested we stay to see if anyone shows up during TTB set. Ended up watching show from front row center. That was a nice treat. Both nights were great but I give the nod to Friday night in part due to the audience. More folks standing with audience really into the show. Those touting Charles Bradley were right. A great soul singer closely resembling what I imagine James Brown would be like live. And what a great moment when he came back out during the TTB set and did Heart of Gold .... not what you would expect but a highlight for me. The whole show...both of them were a highlight to me.. A great weekend in NYC even with the Pope. Nice seeing the Amsterdam packed after both shows. Looking forward to doing it again next year.

Friday night was wonderful. The double jam in Keep on Growin' was the highlight for me. Anyone see anyone taping? While Susan has an amazing voice which I love, it is nice to see Mike getting more lead vocals. His voice is a gift from whatever higher authority there is or isn't in the universe. And Derek did that thing again where he plays two songs at once, mixing in some of the riff from Sahib Teri Bandi into Idle Wind.

I'll be honest I was digging Charles Bradley's set for the first 80% of it, then It was just too much air humping. There's a line that gets crossed when I'm not the target audience and where Mr Bradley was less like James Brown and more like Bill Cosby.

I understand how you feel. I laughed out loud at numerous points when he was behaving as if he was gods gift to women even though he is at least in his sixties with a little pouch. Even the stage hand laughed when he placed the cape over Charles shoulders. He did blow me away with his voice. Too much fun.

Good not great show Saturday night. Derek played well, as always but felt like he missed not having someone push him. Wish saw them Friday night with Jimmie and Hidalgo. Nice to be back in Beacon for a show but not nearly the atmospheric intensity that came with Allmans Beacon. Second year of this run thought last year better. Susan sounded great and her solo in Sky was pretty intense moment. Will keep going but not like it used to be in that place.

I wasn't' there friday so i can't compare the shows. The crowd was so different that it made me miss the ABB march madness run even more...

On the playback, no complaints about the show. It's always different than being there.

Derek needs someone to push him? Really?
After countless years of DTB, then TTB I find that hard to believe.
I guess after all he is human (although some of us think otherwise when it comes to guitar playing) and he has some nights that are great and some that are just very good, but imo he doesn't need a foil
