Trouble No More band?

Whatever happened with this act? Seems like it died on the vine.

Jack apparently they are still together. Had a show in early August.
Says they are seasoned Memphis musicians who love the Allman Brothers Band.
I may be wrong but I think Porkchopbob saw them and said they were very good.

Hardly, Trouble No More band just played Peach Fest last month and Macon this week. I saw them in Miami a few months ago and Lamar and Roosevelt and Peter are great. The guitarists are a little underwhelming, but they put on a fun show.

We saw them last year.
Very good show.

Regarding the guitarists, I think it is Taz N(?) and Daniel Donato. Taz has been around since his early teens and I believe was in the Col. Bruce school/influence. Daniel is known more for being a tele-burner and one of the players to come through Don Kelley's band in Nashville. Has an album called Cosmic Country (something like that).
Both seems like interesting picks for a straight Allmans band.

@rationalrebel yup those are the guitarists. Both are talented, just not great fits for an Allman Bros project. I would have liked to have heard more from Roosevelt, he's such a great lap steel player.
Everyone knows Taz, he's super good but he's a shredder, which just doesn't work on the Allmans' more melodic material like "Blue Sky".
Daniel is also talented, his band opened the Miami show I saw and was kind of fun - sort of Marshall Tucker meets the Grateful Dead. But his country-jam style didn't work for me on the Allman Bros material. To boot, he has one of the weirdest singing voices I've heard, reminds me of Rednex or a Muppet - also didn't work for me on "Blue Sky". Especially when Lamar Jr is right there. Someone needs to tell him he shouldn’t be singing or just turn his mic off.

Saw these guys a few weeks ago at Roots Rock Revival week. Not very impressive for me. Taz is a shredder other guy kinda strange take on songs. The drummer was the real show, I think her name was Nikki something great vocals and monster drums. And Jr. Mack was the MVP (most valuable "player") of the Roots week. IMO Friends of the Brothers is a better band because of Jr. Mack and Andy A.

When you mention Taz being a shredder, I think I understand the term. One that sticks out to me is Steve Vai, who I can't stand. I saw him twice on that G3 tour from the nineties. Remember that? So I looked up the term and I came across this:
The 20 greatest shred guitarists of all time | MusicRadar
Now most of these guys I have never heard of. I rather like Yngwie. They also have Satriani on the list, which surprised me. I don't hear it in him. I can totally see that not fitting AT ALL with the ABB. Remember the Zakk Wylde show?
My apologies for getting off topic.
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

Pretty much yeah, when I say “shredder” I mean a player who just plays a lot of fast notes without any melody or musicality - like a parlor trick. Gary Moore comes to mind - lots and lots of notes but just because he can, not because it adds to the song. And yeah, lots of 80s players imitating Eddie Van Halen with the gain turned way up and the action low.
There are songs that are defined by lots of fast notes (late Coltrane comes to mind) or moments where a solo can build to that, but maybe not non-stop through out “Blue Sky”. Got to have some dynamics and restraint, which was something that defined Duane and Dickey’s playing.

Junior Mack's acoustic blues set at Roots Revival was incredibly good. Muddy, Howlin wolf, BB...just so cool !

Top 10 best Allman Brothers Band songs. I assume Trouble No More does all of these.

Posted by: @porkchopbob@stephen they have been touring as well, they had a few dates last week. Just look it up, people.
looked over under sideways down, finally something popped up after the Nashville show Aug 9, appreciation from Lee Roy of Dickey & GS musicians -
status of tour, I’m sure is out there somewhere - almost sounded like a wrap after Aug 9 gig, Aug 15-16 St.L-Chicago weren’t mentioned on City Winery websites - still says “many more to come!” after those dates, here & on DB homepage
