Top 5 artists or bands....You just don't get (or I just don't hear it bro')

Wilco
Arcade Fire
Rap - Hip Hop
Rush
Cecil Taylor[Edited on 1/31/2016 by stormyrider]
Agreed on Arcade Fire, have had many people try to turn me on to them and don't get it.

in no particular order I dont get
David Bowie
Iggy Pop
Velvet Underground
Widespread Panic (despite Jimmy Herring)
Wilco
The Smithshowever I like both versions of the Doobie Brothers Fleetwood Mac and I love Umphreys McGee 🙂
Agreed on Umphrey's. They are in the top 5 of live acts out there right now, IMO. Also they were great in KZoo this past Saturday. Seeing Joshua Redman sit in for portions was awesome.

Did you get a complimentary pair of ear plugs with your ticket?
Or did you opt for nose plugs?
😛 😛

No earplugs (though I should get myself a pair) or nose plugs. Worst smell of the night was the people in front of us chain smoking cigarettes

Widespread Panic (despite Jimmy Herring)
Wilco
The Smiths
This list is awesome! Except for Panic, this is my list of my all-time favorites!! Different strokes...

TTB. Wish I could but just not happening.

Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

TTB
Phish
Pearl Jam.....If I could just understand Eddie a little would help
Dave Matthews Band
Kid Rock

My list. Still just don't get the popularity of any of these. Let me clarify ONE thing: U2 has recorded a lot of good songs. But to me if you hear two of them in a row, they are all almost interchangeable. I tried to watch a televised Radiohead show once, I'm nearly certain it was Austin City Limits. Man, I just could NOT get into ANY of it. Really out there to me. Yet, my brother, who is a professional guitarist, absolutely LOVES them. Might be his favorite band. I'm clueless to understand that. Supertramp always sounded like they had a fairy singing lead. And that is NOT a gay slur. I mean, a real, live FAIRY. REO Speedwagon? Spinal Tap all the way, to my ears.
Supertramp
REO Speedwagon
Metallica
U2
Def Leppard
Radiohead
Now here's my "shocked to see on anyone's list in this thread", and two different people named one each of these artists in this thread: David Bowie and The Clash. To me they're two of the greatest and most influential acts in rock history. But to each their own................

Zeppelin
U2
Genesis
Kiss
Rap
