Tommy Stinson & Luther DIckinson

I've been spinning the new Bash and Pop CD "Anything Can Happen" nonstop. Great stuff!
Rootsy rock along the lines of solo Ron Wood or Keith, or maybe Izzy Stradlin's first album, or Wilco's "A.M.," or the Georgia Satellites.
Tommy Stinson was the bassist of The Replacements and, for a surprisingly long stretch, was also in Guns'n'Roses. This is his band, with him singing. It certainly has a mid-career Replacements flavor. Luther Dickinson adds great lead guitar to about half the album.
Luther's father Jim Dickinson manned the boards for my favorite Replacements album, "Pleased To Meet Me," recorded in Memphis.
Anyway, if you like your rock'n'roll served straight with a whiskey chaser, this is your album.

A video from the album, very cool song:

thanks for posting. Will check this out.
I saw the Replacements a few years ago when they did a brief reunion. I didn't know much about them and was really surprised. One of the more fun pure rock n roll shows I've seen.
You could hear how tons of 90's bands and beyond were influenced by them. To me the show felt beatles and stonesesque with some punk thrown in.
Hold Steady and Deer tick opened. It was a great show and very different than my usual type of band to go see. Stinson is quite a character and must drive Paul Westerberg nuts.

It's great! Thanks Jim Sheridan for turning me on to it.
