Tommy makes great points regarding cannabis and legalization.
Ironically, I believe that his "persona" just might be one reason or obstacle in the fight of nationwide legalization. A lot of the mainstream ("Square, tight-a$$-honkeys ....") public impression is that of the vapid, "has anybody seen my car keys?", "Stoner"'. I know a lot of folks who eschew alcohol, tobacco and all of the other "recreational drugs" who consume cannabis. Most of these are creative and intellectual types. Other than a few teenage "retro-hippies" that I have encountered, I know of no one with the mentality or presence of Tommy Chong's stoner character.
It's time for legalization - across the board and across the nation NOW!
Of course I can always take consolation in the fact that if I can't have cannabis at least I can drink as much alcohol as I want, buy a semi-automatic weapon with a 40 shot clip, go and gamble my life savings away at a legal casino and marry someone with the same reproductive gear that I have (not that there's anything wrong with that). Yeah. Whatever.
Intresting that he admits he is not a daily user, the way he advocates for its use many people with addictive personalities hear his dope spiel and think they can smoke up all day, every day. Same way people love talking up partying and boozing all nite long while having a productive life. Later on they reveal that its all an act and they nurse a drink all nite long or party hard and then are able to abstain for six months or more.

I got high with George (Harrison) a bunch of times. And George played on a Cheech and Chong record one time, "Basketball Jones." That whole intro is him. He was a real beautiful guy.

That's a great perspective in which to view the illegal status of cannabis at the Federal level.

Those would be two separate purchases, and the weapon part you'd be waiting 3 business days to take possession.
