They are performing Thursday night at Humphrey's here in San Diego. Not the biggest TP fan (I've seen him twice) but figure, wth.

Anyone seen this band?

I caught one of the New York shows and had a great time - excellent musicianship and a fun rapport with the crowd. This is all Mudcrutch and some of their influences, so as said, no classic Heartbreakers tunes but that was not an issue for me. Enjoy.

Saw them earlier this month. See review including my comments here:

The quality videos from the show in the comments will give you a good idea.

I should have said being in SoCal you should probably go. You never know who might show up.

Mudcrutch was superb in their 2 hour show in Altanta a few weeks ago. The material on the two records is strong (Dreams of Flying on the new one is one of the greatest songs Petty has ever recorded) and you could tell it was refreshing for Petty, Campbell and Tench to be able to play an entire show sans Heartbreaker music and the expectations that come with that.

They rock harder in concert than the the two records which can have a country/picking and sometimes rock-abily side to them.

I wouldn't miss them if you have a passing interest in Petty and they were in your town.
