To Bonnie From Delaney

For those interested, this album is finally getting a re-release on CD. It has been out of print for a long time.

Such a great album, any Duane Allman fan should have this. After waiting for years for it to be re-released, I picked up an import version on amazon. I wonder if it will be remixed at all.

What I really hope this, and the recent release of the Allmans' A&R radio show, is we might get a cleaned up official release of the Delaney & Bonnie A&R radio show that featured King Curtis and Duane Allman. That one has been in the vaults for too long.

Good luck on all the ABB shows getting released. To much internal fighting to this day for the Duane era material. Also some of the quality is not there so it would be bad faith to issue sub par shows.

True dat.

Any idea how many/which tracks Duane plays on ( ?)
(Is he on more than a couple?)

He is on several cuts.
Also, if you can get Motel Shot, which is even more laid back and loose and includes Duane, pick that up too.

Thank you! Will check it out.

Last aug 11th, Our 42 wedding anniv. Wife & I took the day off and rode to Anderson Sc to do some shopping, mess around and have dinner. On the way, we wondered what a 42nd anniv was designated as? ( ie silver = 25th, gold = 50th) We were planning to hit our favorite record store, Rainbow Records in Anderson that day, so I said let's make it a Vinyl anniv. When I went to counter with 10 or so new to us albums, Mark Brooks the owner looked at the slightly used copies I had in my hand of Motel Shot & To Bonnie from Delaney and said." those have been out for a week or so and I've been wondering why someone had not scooped them up. When I saw you two walk in the door I smiled to myself and said that you'd have them in your hand at checkout." Told him glad his clientel had missed them as I'd been looking for Motel Shot for years! We may have more Vinyl Anniversaries along the way.

Nice story Willie ...

I'm glad that they are reissuing To Bonnie From Delaney, but when I saw the name of the distributor, Wounded Bird Records, I have a feeling that the artwork would be limited, or generic. I purchased the Japanese version many years ago and it had some nice extras like the lyrics and a big size photo of Delaney and Bonnie. Motel Shot was similar. Please let me know how you like the Wounded Bird version.
