This May Be THE Blues Festival of 2015

Scroll down for lineup, artists were just announced yesterday. Thanks to a good buddy of mine, and having seen last year's lineup, a month ago I got a discounted pre-sale ticket and a campsite for six nights. Now that this lineup has been announced, I'm sure there will be a mad scramble for campsites.

Indeed a very nice line-up. Most of these bands have been performing at various European Blues Festivals in my neck of the woods and went over very well with the blues affinciados over here. Personally i'm not a fan of either
Johnny Lang nor Robert Cray but the rest looks great to me. The Slide Brothers are more or less The Campbell Brothers which are the best Sacred Steel band out there. John Nemeth and Carolyn Wonderland are great live acts as well. Haven't seen Trombone Shorty yet...still on my "bands i got to see" list.

Trombone Shorty puts on a great show.

Trombone Shorty takes funk way up to a new level, that's why he's the headliner. I've seen him three times. I've seen many of the acts on the list, some many times over, like Robben Ford, who I've been listening to live for 35 years. Robben always brings it! Cray and Lang aren't high on my list either, but I rate them both as excellent artists. After seeing him 10 times, I simply grew tired of Cray, but I still think he's great. Jonny Lang's first record, "Jonny Lang", is a classic in my book and the fact that he recorded that when he was 16 will always blow my mind. And I know from Crossroads 2010 that he SURE can play. Add in Carolyn Wonderland, Ruthie Foster, etc., etc., .......this is going to be a great one. Tommy Castro is a Bay area dude who really brings it..........he's been killing it 'round here for 30 years. And there's still several time slots over the four days that they haven't even filled yet. They've got time, it's 4-1/2 months away.

It does look like a great line-up and fun! I must be getting old...... the concept of 4 days of camping among a sea of strangers seems like some endurance test of sorts. I could do 2 days

Cool lineup.
Also, consider the Chicago Blues Fest.
It's free.

Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

This is a killer lineup. Wish I was on the Left Coast for this, but glad they're having a blowout for our West Coast Blues friends. They always seem to be neglected.
