Did you have to pay $50 to join the Who fan club for the pre-sale?

When I bought my tickets during the fanclub presale they added the $50 fan club fee to the ticket price. Nice little scam to milk more money out of us dumb fans. But I paid it so I am not bitching about it. The price you have to pay these days to get a shot at decent seats I guess.

I saw the "Farewell" Tour in '82. I saw the "Tommy" tour in '89. I enjoyed both shows. That box is checked for me. I don't want to see them as long as John Entwistle remains dead.

Lets see if I can kill this thread too, since that apparently is my specialty. The Farewell tour in '82 wasn't very good. We saw them @ JFK with Santana and The Clash. The Clash was booed off the stage after 45 minutes. Santana was ok and the Who was going through the motions. All of us were there in the hope that it was as good as the Stones opening their tour the previous year in Philly with George Thorogood and Journey, who also were booed off the stage, ironically during their tour to support the Escape album.

From what I've heard their '89 tour was awesome, but I didn't see them that time around.

Anyway, after The Ox passed, they really aren't the Who anymore. Just Roger singing Pete's tunes and friends.

I'm gonna try to score some tix

have never had the opportunity to see them live ... something ALWAYS came up

Roger's voice doesn't have the power it use to, but seems better than 5 yrs ago

I use to scoff at the Who tours since the farewell, but after reading Pete's book,
I can see why they use to do with and how he came back to the fold and why
they do it now

so, if this is it, I'd like to be able to see them live just once

Based on some sound advice from Northernman, I'll be at the Forest Hills show. I went for the top price tickets because I LOVE Pete Townsend. This will most likely be my last Who concert, so I figured....go BIG or stay home. Thanks Ray!

I pulled the trigger on a pair of 62.50 tickets.
I just saw Phil Lesh in Forest Hills stadium, wild place for a show plus this is the Who's only outdoor show of the tour. Cool

Heard a rumour the Who will be at Jazzfest. 25th April. There is a gap in their schedule on that day given the Show/dayoff/show nature of the tour and they're in the south at that time. Got tickets for Manchester UK next Saturday, really looking forward to it.
