The Ron Wood Show on AXS

Anybody catch this last Sunday? He had Sir Paul on as the first guest. It was really good. Less like an interview and more like hanging with legends for an hr. He played a tune that he had played for John Lennon to join what would become The Beatles. I look forward to more of this show.

Been diggin some Faces shows, early 70s BBC, Ron Wood splattered all over, almost punk rock, kind of hilarious in a nauseating way - really outrageous, gritty.

He is a unique talk show host for sure.

Really cool and fun show.Patti Boyd is an interesting guest that is scheduled.
I love the way Ron moves...music seeping through his bones and blood...
Ron’s facial expressions remind me of the late comedian Marty Feldman(Igor from
Young Frankenstein)

Going to check his show out.Love his solo album I feel like playing it’s got this funky groove to it that is just endless and his vocal is so cool.Slide on This is another one really good.Completey underrated artist. He’s been a troubled man over the years glad he pulled though.Keith once said that he loved going to rehab go figure guess that saved him.

Yeah for sure Slide On This is excellent.

I wish I could get AXS as this show sounds fun!
By the way - Now Look and I’ve Got My Own Album to Do are two of Ron Wood’s early albums that are fantastic!

I saw the McCartney segment, it was really, really cool! Just Ronnie and Paul telling stories of their early days (50's /60's), listening to some Chuck Berry, Little Richard, etc., sometimes playing along.

If you don't have Now Look (1975), go to Amazon and buy it NOW!!! This is a great, GREAT, lost record that NEVER got any acclaim at all to my knowledge. This is an R&B/SKA record more than anything else, and it will simply blow your mind! R&B stalwart Bobby Womack is ALL over it and he co-wrote five of the tunes. Keith Richards is on three tunes, Mick Taylor on one, Ian McLagan handles all the keyboards, Willie Weeks bass, Andy Newmark drums. GET THIS RECORD. I have My Own Album To Do and Gimme Some Neck, they don't even come close to this.
This really makes me sad. Now Look is out of print.........Amazon has ONE copy and it's $38.99!! There is hope though..........you can download an MP3 for $9.49. I hope they re-issue this one, but as old as we baby boomers are.............who would buy it? Glad I upgraded this from vinyl to CD maybe 20 years ago.

Thx for the heads up on the Ronnie records. Screw Amazon, ebay - way I see it if it is out of print and people are knifing buyers for it, it's ok to steal it, which is what . . . nevermind

He had Alice Cooper the other night. I’m really liking the way he does this show.

Haha, Ron and Alice, must have been a rogue's gallery. I Iove Alice, not his music which I find unlistenable except for maybe Poison and Billion $ Babies, but his persona and humor are great. I enjoy his FM gig "Nights With Alice Cooper".
robslob- I scared up Ron Woods Now Look! it's EXCELLENT! He outkeefs keef, solid rock, blues, ska, some of it even ventures into that slick steelydanish jazzpop groove, Neat record. Stellar recommend.

I'm so glad you found it and even better that you dig it as much as I do! Because of this thread it's been on in the car for the last two days...........needed a reminder. Just a shame that this record never got any more recognition than it did.
Curious........you must have done a digital download to get it in your hands this fast?

yep, cast my line and reeled it out of the sky man.

I bought Now Look in a used record store in Boston back in the early 80’s and it has been a favorite ever since. I have moved to the digital version and while I did pull my vinyl collection out of storage just recently, the one missing box out of 6 had all the Stones and related ones in it.
