Jackie Greene and his Band stopped into New York's City Winery with his brand of Rock N Roll. He played a nice show. Highlighting some of his established tunes, tunes off his new disc Back To Birth, and a couple covers including a Beatles mini Revolver medley with Tomorrow Never Knows and Taxman taking it to all it's cosmic glory.

The picture below with both guitarists kneeling adjusting their pedals was pre Beatles medley. Fun show.

Jackie's been playing with some names including Phil Lesh & Friends, The Crowes, & Trigger Hippy among others, but Mr. Greene has some something to say on his own. I took 1 mediocre video from the show for his closer Closer To You. Mama loves her Jackie Greene. He's touring in the Northeast at the moment, You may want to stop in.

2/10/16 Closer To You Video

(sorry mediocre video grab with overwhelmed picture camera, didn't do it justice)

Here's a clip someone posted of Taxman that's missing the Tomorrow Never Knows front portion of the mini medley.

Jackie is quite a good songwriter, IMO, and it's always a good time seeing him! Catching his run next month at the Sweetwater in Marin.

I loved Jackie Green with the crowes and trigger hippy. He can definitely sing and jam on guitar and I would be interested to see his solo stuff. Thanks for posting. Hope he comes south at some point.

Somebody is a ray of sunshine with their posts. Bringing the hate.

It's not "hate". It's called being honest.

My earlier response was covered in sarcasm.

Do you have any positive honesty to share on this forum or is your world just shrouded in darkness? It seems 99% of the time I see your name on here your contributions have been "_____ isn't very good" and "______does drugs and that's why he isn't good".

So far you have taught us that many members of the ABB still love cocaine despite saying they are clean, that Todd Nance is on drugs, Jackie Greene isn't good, Duane Trucks loves all kinds of drugs and isn't good, WSP isn't good, that Butch's new band is bad, and that Derek's wife ruined the chances of the DTB getting back together, that Derek loves his cocaine as well and the cause of Allen Woody's death all in the span of just a couple of short days. I'm sure I've missed some, but that is just off the threads I have read today that you have shared your honesty on.

It lends to credibility issues when all of your posts are at best contrarian and at worst trolling since you post them as if you are the expect on the subject. However, as long as you are having fun with it, do as you like.

I like Jackie as a guitarist, I love Jackie as an entertainer. He is an all around fantastic musician. He is a natural vocalist. Top shelf and it seems to be so easy for him. It's a gift. His guitar work is more than adequate and improving, His organ/piano skills are there also. He blends his stuff well. Folk, Soul, R&B, +. Some stuff I find more interesting that others, but it's mostly nice.

If you don't dig him then it's all well and good, move on, but I look forward to his musical future with promise. Life happens, we'll see if he can maintain and sustain, but he's great, Don't lock yourself out on life with hang-ups.

Here's a varied sampling of Jackie videos. Some from his own youtube channel doing some of favorite covers. Smooth and enjoyable.

Silver Lining (another new tune)

12/31/15 Compilation from Crest Theatre

I like Jackie's solo work, but I will say that "Silver Lining" off of his most recent album might have taken some inspiration from Pearl Jam's "Dissident".

Silver Lining

Dissident
