Australian band the Church mostly known in the US for college radio hits plus the top 40 hit " Under the Milky Way " are touring the US currently in support of their new album " Further / Deeper " including several cities in the south.

The Church are a highly underrated band, with an impressive discography. I saw them 3 or 4 years ago for the first time (after their 23rd album was released), and they were great. I keep meaning to see them again, but they booked a small venue in Chicago this tour, and the show sold out quickly.

As I understand it, guitarist/songwriter/sometimes singer Marty Wilson-Piper isn't with the band any more, but I'd still see them.

aekdmboid,

I knew there were some Church fans on this board from previous posts. They are a guitar band after all. I'm sure more would be fans if they heard them. esp. in the live situation. Much better than Coldplay or U-2 who inexplicably have all the popularity in the world (??!! WTF )
Yes it was a surprise when Marty WP left however his replacement turned out to be a wild card / fantastic choice . Ian Haug from another Australian band Powderfinger who were hugely popular in Australia only during the 90's / 2000's . Apparently he fits in really well and the sound of the band is great.
note; they prob. were booked in to a smaller venue in Chicago due to their cult status.
