The Chris Duarte Group @The Iridium, NYC 11/11/14

A good friend from Chicago came local so we went and caught The Chris Duarte Group's show at the Iridium in NYC, Great fun blues, nice show.
The guy's been doing for 20+ years. He has that Texas swing Blues style that SRV made famous. Kenny Wayne, Indigenous, Ana Popovic, Etc all pay tribute to Stevie in their live shows. He was a stallion!
Chris covers all the blues Gods and at times wanders into some guitar improv own his own. Take a listen to his own fusion injected leads on his version of Freddie King's Big Legged Woman. He does a true hopping groove on the rhythm work and branches off on the solo.
I dig that from a variety of artists. The shows are always a fun night. Here's a couple pic's & videos. The GWB had the lights on full bore for Veterans Day. I tried to take a pic thru my sun roof crossing and almost lost my camera.

Thanks -- this guy is the real deal -- was floored hearing one of his CDs from years ago -- just one of a legion of great players -- Tab Benoit, Jon Butcher, Little Charlie & the Nightcats etc etc --- Jon Butcher is playing a show of Hendrix music next week at the Flying Monkey in Plymouth -- thinking seriously on that one
Chris is a smokin player alkright
