One of the highlights of 2009. Jimmy and Derek are magic together

as one of the comments for the next video stated "Master and student of same mind"

I just wanted to mention that this whole show, 3/23/09, is a very strong one and often overlooked among the other great 2009 Beacon shows.

Besides this killer Les Brers, it has probably my favorite versions of Desdemona and the little-played instrumental Bag End. Well worth picking up this show.

That was a great show - think it doesn't get credit because it lack a unifying theme. King Curtis' old band was amazing - remember that three fingered Organ player?

Probably my favorite version of Les Brers by this lineup. Jimmy and Derek do their usual thing and Oteil goes out there with them. Derek just plain shreds. And yes, this is an excellent show overall. The Kingpins with Mike Mattison are great, and the 8-minute Blue Sky > Little Martha > Blue Sky was one of the highlights of the entire 2009 run. Add Bag End and Desdemona - and I like the songs with John Bell, too - and that's a hell of a night.
