I received an e-mail from TanDan's brother. I thought I should share it here:

Hi Rusty,

This is Danny's brother, Greg, you may recall from the service when you gave me your card.

I want to say thanks so much for being so nice, all of you. You're just very loving people.

Please, somehow, let the Allman Brothers Band people, the group where he was "Tandan," know of my appreciation of them, especially in the way it brought so much joy to Danny's life. He loved you all so much. In so many ways, I may have biologically been his brother," but you were his brothers (and sisters) in greater ways than I was.

I wasn't his only brother, the service sure proved that to me.

I am so happy that he found all of you, and that you found him. You were (and are) his family every bit as much as I was (and am). Wow, say that ten times fast! You get the drift. You were a huge part of his life. I don't know if he is with Duane right now -- for my part, I think that he is everywhere now -- but if he's not with Duane then I bet he thinks he got screwed big time! Such a fan. Such an admirer or great music.

Thank you for hearing me, and feel free to share my words with your Allman Brothers family. I miss Danny immensely, and I know that you do as well. He was a good man. He was a complex guy. I wish he'd had another 20, 25, 30 years. But his gig was up and that's the way it played. Sucks. I wanted, and needed, more time with him.

I am glad that he is not hurting any more because, damn, I think that he really did.

Thank you all for being so good to Danny, Dan, Tandan, for letting him be good to you. You made his journey a great thing, a fun thing. So many brothers and sisters. He was a lucky guy.
