Time to move on now the music is over and it was a great ride and i sure don't want to just hang here and argue with folks over political stuff so all you folks be safe and have a great holiday season.. and thanks for all the good times..peace..

Take care, Mike! Please pop your head in from time to time!

Time to move on now the music is over
Man, that is depressing! And sorry you feel that way too, I keep finding new sounds and interesting music topics suggested here. And always appreciated your posts, esp. the Native American standpoint.
and Absolutely agree re the political stuff, best thing for that is ignore the Whipping Post. That forum is pretty much all being sucked toward one poster anyway by now.

Agree with our buddy Brer. Always enjoyed your input and hope you reconsider in the future.

Take care, Mike.

Take care, Mike.
ditto...thanks for the Jack cd's some years ago...most grateful!

I'm about two steps behind ya...
take care, always enjoyed your posts from a Native American viewpoint as well...

I don't know you but I hate to see anyone leaving a forum these days. Fakebook has sucked up everyone and anything of importance. Seems you just HAVE to be on FB to keep up any more.
I have always liked this forum too and have also met and made many friends. But if ya gotta go, ya gotta go.
Peace and peaches......

"I'm about two steps behind ya..."
I certainly hope NOT.

Take a break, the music ain't over. Butch has put together former ABB members, Gregg wants to play with Dickey again, none of them are actually retired. They seem to be just taking a break, and a lot of us are taking breaks too, with personal stuff going on. I remember when Dickey said he would never play with Gregg again, well that changed and the whole band got back together more than once.
This next time, no they probably won't call themselves ABB, maybe they'll use Butch's idea Les Brers, same energy, probably a lot of the same players except Derek who has found his fit with him and Susan's mega band. Derek was never supposed to be there forever, he was an emerging impresario, evolving, growing. The others all have a synergy and sync with each other that they cannot duplicate elsewhere. Sooooo, take a break if you need to, but don't give up all together.

I admit that I once felt that the "music is over" just because the ABB had its last show on 10-28-14. For many decades, I was focused only on the ABB...no Gov't Mule, no TTB, not even the occasional Gregg Allman or Dickey Betts solo releases, though I have them all. I regret that I did not even attempt to start collecting the other fantastic bands. Finally I slapped myself and said, "Fred, wake up!" I'm starting over again, trying to get the ABB vibe again, but with other bands.
You guys are a great bunch!

An excerpt from the link I posted originally maybe explains better why I don't like FB.
"What might start as an interesting scroll through ‘what’s happening’ in others’ lives becomes a daily habit. It becomes an hours-long practice; hours that could be spent with real people."
"Experience the simple human joy of pleasant conversation. Conversation, now there’s a concept. You see, conversation is the opposite of Facebook. On Facebook the one sentence or two that passes for ‘discussion’ is just that. So, people get frustrated, and slowly they become angry. People sound mad all the time on Facebook because they are, because they know they’ll never really communicate with those at the other end of the electronic leash."
" Not so with conversation in person. When you sit down with someone across from you, and talk to them, what you usually find is kindness, and even listening. What you will find is that you are remarkably happy, and wonder why you didn’t do this sooner, or more often. Conversation is a real way to make friends."

Mike, keep in touch. Ed

Plenty of great music to discuss, and a specialty site like this is much better than Facebook for talking music.
On this site, if you dont want politics, it's easy enough: avoid the Whipping Post.

There's some kind souls with shared interests and specialized knowledge. I've enjoyed the content, It may originate about the music, but beyond. Whatever is going on in your world, it'll pass. Be well.

yea the whipping post can be tiresome, so can election season even if you don't go to the WP. i get tired of it too. the internet in general can get tiresome but for the small amount of time i have been on this site i know there are alot of good hearted people here. and i still find alot of music info on this site even since the breakup. hang in there ryde and anyone else frustrated with whatever. its not as bad as the internet or tv or the political system may make it sound.

Laterz Mike
Have fun kickin it by the river on the Rez.
I am still in love with your double kick Ludwig maple 😛
