I came here to ask whether any one else attended. They always play an amazing show there. HOWEVER, my question was whether any one else thought Susan's songs far out numbered Derek's songs? I felt like due to the addition of the Los Lobos and other guitarists songs Derek was not in enough songs to play his amazing solos. I miss Midnight in Harlem for instance.

As I was leaving a guy walking behind me told the gate keeper it was a C show, grade of C, "too much Tedeschi"

So I wasn't the only one. I do really love Susan and her voice is so strong and soulful, she sounded best here than what I have ever heard her. Just wondering if anyone else thought the same.

That's a great set list, I love this band. Glad y'all saw a great show, I love when they pull out the Traffic and Joe Cocker tunes and their last album is their best yet. Surprised they ever take a night off from "Midnight in Harlem" - that's like a 1990's ABB setlist without "Blue Sky". Great that they keep it fresh, as a band, you never want to feel like you have to play a song every night. I don't know if there necessarily is a "Derek" or a "Susan" song with TTB - even "Midnight in Harlem" builds on both of their strengths. Usually Mike, Mark, and Alecia break up the vocals mix.

I was in the front row for second year in a row. I agree with porkchop...they are all TTB songs and Derek soloed on almost all of them. great show B+ maybe A- . No way a C. Darlin' be home soon was magnificent. Luther and Susan killed Angel from Montgomery. Susan nailed her solo during sky is cryin' with Cesar and Derek took care of everything else and then some. I had a blast, love them more each time I see them.

Derek song vs Susan song?
Really???????

as far as no Midight in Harlem, they have started to mix up the set lists.
Last year, people used to complain that they played the same songs each show.

What a strange first post!

Susan's voice is great and the best you've ever heard her.... just a pity that there was too much of it!

Some people are never happy....

Glad you had a good time. I loved how Derek was wearing a Duane Allman shirt also.

What time did the show start, when did TTB come on, and when did it end?
Just prepping for the road trip a bit later today to head up to Gilford.

Luther and Susan killed Angel from Montgomery

I looked at the band's bio and there is no one in TTB named Luther. Luther Dickinson sit-in?

Nice set. I had tickets and a hotel room but unfortunately I had to scuttle the trip up due to my father being hospitalized. Second road trip I had to cancel this summer. Hopefully I can go to my other planned road trip to see Jerry Garcia Orchestra in Bethel next month. Can't keep losing $200 at a time and missing great music but that is life. Now I am looking forward to the two TTB shows I have tickets for at the Beacon in October.

Personally I am glad they took a step back from 'Midnight In Harlem' and don't play it every night. As with any other magically written and generally loved song playing it too often will eventually sap the specialness out of it. Kind of like with 'Soulshine' for Gov't Mule. The core fans will never complain about certain hit songs being excluded from a setlist. It is the fringe fans that want to hear the big hits every time. Me I'd rather hear some obscure material and just break out a couple of hits a night.

They were great in Saratoga!!! The whole band brought their A+++ game.

North Mississippi Allstars and Los Lobos were also great.

It was totally worth the long trip. The venue was also very nice.

I'm sure there will be contradictions to this statement, but for me, this is the best band currently touring. Doesn't matter where you see them they're killing it.

They were great at Wolf Trap last night as well. There were a lot of sit ins, most notably Susan sitting in with Los Lobos for the Marvin Gaye classic "What's Going On". Susan left the stage and Derek and the TTB horns came out and did a ripping "Mas Y Mas".

Later during the TTB set David Hidalgo came out and fronted the Allman Brothers Classic, "Don't Keep Me Wondering."

A fantastic night at Wolf Trap, the only National Park dedicated to the Performing Arts.

That sounds like some great TTB/LL combined playing!

I will be attending TTB Wheels of Soul show this Friday near Raleigh NC. Unfortunately, Greg Allman is in town the same night. Ultimately I decided on TTB because bill also included North Mississippi Allstars. I was wondering what playing order and set times had been for the 3 bands at earlier shows in this tour.

^^ this is pretty much what it was at wolf trap too. Think TTB may have started and ended a little earlier though.

TTB is playing two shows in September at the Fox in Oakland; opted for night two, billed as "An Evening with Tedeschi Trucks Band."

Night one Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers open; saw them last year open for Jackie Greene at the Fox. Really liked NB&G, but thought "An Evening with TTB" sounded more enticing. Maybe a surprise guest? Maybe not? I can't wait, they are so soulful. Will be my sixth TTB show...
