does anyone know what the "ticket time" was for tonight?
tomorrow says doors at 6, show at 7 - I can't imagine the show starting that early.

Tonight was doors at 7, show at 8. Soulive played a few minutes past 8 until 8:55. TTB came on about 9:25.

http://scituate.wickedlocal.com/article/20141212/Entertainment/141218948/?Start=1

"The Tedeschi-Trucks Band headlines the House of Blues in Boston on Friday and Saturday nights, with special surprise guests opening each night. Tedeschi confided that Friday’s opener will be a group with strong Boston connections, while Saturday’s surprise will be a renowned soul act."

Perhaps BostonBrothersFan is correct?

Worth noting that Robert Randolph & The Family Band are doing a show tonight (Thursday) in Shirley, MA, Friday they're doing a show 4 hours away in Hudson, NY and then there's nothing on their schedule until the 17th. So I'd count them as a possibility Saturday.

After last night's show, and this possibility, I almost want to go again tonight!!!!

I have been playing a favorite show of mine this week in the car, Soulive w/ Derek sitting in at the Bear Creek Festival in 2008.

I guess I picked up some psychic vibes from Derek and Krasno Smile Get out of my head, you guys!

If you do go let us know. I'm very interested in how TTB stands up to multiple nights in a row.

I have tickets for both shows at the Warner in February. Last night's show, compared to Thursday's show in Richmond was far better. Richmond had some great moments, but there were technical difficulties that muddied the Mojo.

Even though there were a lot of repeat songs there were enough changes in the setlist to keep things interesting. And even on the repeat songs the nature of improvisation will keep me going back.

Made Up Mind
Do I Look Worried

Anyhow
I Pity the Fool (Bobby “Blue” Bland cover)
Keep on Growing (Derek and the Dominos cover)
* Derek played the Gold Top through Duane's Marshall amp
The Storm
Encore:
Night Time Is the Right Time (Roosevelt Sykes cover)

For folks that went last night...any comments on security line? Saw moe here and the pat down and resulting line was ridiculous. Over a 30 min wait. Anything like that last night?

wasnt there last night but over the years, the orange peel has gotten more and more strict about security...

used to be one could walk in and out without a problem and, um, take care of business next door but that stopped a few years ago......

Great show
Derek took over

He played Duane's rig during Sky is Crying. Unreal
This band continues to grow

^ hmm I always thought it was "bound for glory"!!!!

What a show! This band is always a fantastic and we always walk away so thoroughly impressed with Susan.

Personal highlights were
-the acoustic Don't Think Twice - seen her do this with the bros and the 8/7/12 version is on every playlist I've ever made so getting this live was a Treat!
- sky is crying was predictably ferocious, but Derek had an extra year-ending gear to his last solo.
- It Hurts me too was another first timer for me. I'm more familiar with the "arrangement" that Clapton and Warren play, so it took me a while to figure that put. But Susan was belting out this tune! This was awesome.
- bound for glory never disappoints. I'm a jamband fan, but I'm not sure a 7 minute jazzy keys solo and 2 minute hard rock interlude in the middle of what is your potential anthem / signature tune is the best place for them...just my $0.02
- not a huge fan of the venue. Seems that the seats were pretty stale and the GA sections made for very difficult sight lines. still, moving around was easy and the GA folks were all in the same boat, so there was some comaradarie there!

Great night, off to Foxboro for boston weekend part 2!

Other thoughts
Susan was a little less out front, this was, as my wife said, a tedeschi - TRUCKS Band show.
He was on fire and the whole energy picked up when he soloed

All that I need had a great Derek - Kofi section
acoustic tunes were nice, don't think twice with horns was a new arrangement (for me)

the Johnny Winter blues jam (I'm yours and I'm hers) was great
The Sky is Crying - wow. Personally, I like Derek's sound better with the SG in general (not a knock on the LP) , but there was a whole new energy that came when he was playing Duane's guitar. I literally got the chills
Susan had a couple nice guitar solos
The Storm had a great Derek intro in addition to his prolonged outro. This is his chance to play "out", kinda like he did with My Favorite Things (DTB)

agree about dislike for HOB, although the sound is always very good - excellent

can't wait for next tour

Great show last night. Had our usual spot on the railing by the stage left bar. Elevated so the wife did not have to fight to see.

Derek was the star of the night as his solos were epic.

The only nitpick I had is instrument mix was not very good. Derek, Susan and the bass were upfront and overwhelmed all the others. The drums were very low in the mix and horns were practically inaudible at times IMHO.

susans "it hurts me too" was the highlight of the night for me. she belted that one from the soul. it got a huge ovation that she clearly appreciated. as for the house of blues, i had mezzanine tickets. my first time in the mezzanine and my last. if you are lucky enough to have a spot on the rail you are ok. if not on the rail you are not going to see the stage. the t.v. screen that they have up there for the people who got screwed out of seeing the stage is not hi def. there is one stationary camera not zoomed in. don't get mezzanine tickets at boston h.o.b. unless you get there early enough to insure rail space. but…..the 8 and 10 dollar beers were ice cold. so i had that going for me. however i loved 2 nights in a row of tedeschi trucks band.
