A singlong version of "With a Little Help From My Friends" at the end of a benefit show is one of the surest things on this planet these days, and the Love Rocks Benefit at the Beacon Theatre sported a massive gathering of musicians and celebrities alike.

When it was all said and done, the whole gaggle strolled out on stage for the Joe Cocker singalong and it was surely a sight to behold. On one end, Bill Murray, Joe Walsh and Gary Clark Jr. sharing a mic and on the other, Jackson Browne, Tash Neal, Amy Helm and the Blind Boys of Alabama, among many, many others.

In the middle was Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes and Billy Gibbons leading the ensemble on guitar while Susan Tedeschi absolutely burned the place to the ground with her lead vocals, to the surprise of absolutely no one.

I probably need to go see the TTB live. They have really not caught on with me as far as the studio stuff.

For a mostly "one and off" show it was really good. Not a huge Susan fan but she scorched this number; and it was clear that everyone deferred to her.

I spun through a few of the videos from other artists, looked like a really good show.

Space Captain with Paul Shaffer sort of showed me that Kofi Burbridge is way better, at least on that tune.

This thread inspired me to check TTB tour schedule, and Lo and Behold! 2 hours south of me in Montana in August was added. A new venue.... converted lumber yard now a brewery and amphitheater on a river, hills wrap around...... should be fine....

If lucky I get a show either 2 or 4 hours away like once a year, of an act I dig, last year was Warren. So in the lows like everyone lately..... Butch, Gregg, so this is much needed, well timed, therapy, etc.................

course correction and follow the sun.....

this was the most interesting song i found-Derek lifts this band in a way that Duane played on Loan Me a Dime:

(BTW-for those who think this is TTB,it is not, although Susan & Derek are there,& Kofi)

The smile on Derek's face is priceless, he seems to honored to be so close and watching Sam Moore sing.

A TTB show is good medicine. The positive vibes pouring off the stage infuse the crowd, who serve those vibes right back up. The band loves what they do and love playing with each other, and the crowd truly appreciates it too. Definitely a "Blue Sky" feeling.

The High With A Little Help From My Friends from Atlanta last year was spectacular:

TTB is my favorite band to go see, but I have rarely spun their first 2 studio albums. There is good material there, it sounds great on stage, but for some reason they weren't able to capture the energy of the band in the studio until Let Me Get By. Maybe that material was road tested longer before they went into the studio, I don't know. Definitely catch them if they are nearby.

Sorry, but I disagree. It's the style of dress she is wearing, a "full-skirt" dress.

Maybe not the most flattering, but Susan is a beautiful woman and a great female role model. Love her. Rock on, Susan!

She's clearly put on some weight it's not just the dress. I've noticed for a while. That said it doesn't mean she's not attractive and i never implied such a thing. I like a women with curves.
