I've probably posted this before but Karen Carpenter's voice still melts me. The Carpenters will always be one of my guilty pleasures. RIP Karen. You are missed. 🙁

I've actually went to the public library and put some Carpenters albums on my Itunes (for free!). The library had all of their albums from 1969 to 1973, which was their prime period:

OFFERING (1969)
CLOSE TO YOU (1970)
CARPENTERS (1971)
A SONG FOR YOU (1972)
NOW AND THEN (1973)

Although they will always be considered soft rock, they actually do have a variety of styles and genres in their music. Richard Carpenter sings a few album tracks, and I actually like his contributions.

"Goodbye To Love" is a great song, (from 1972) known best for using an electric guitar solo. Though it sounds dated.
