Sturgill Simpson on SNL This Past Weekend- Rock and Roll SMOKE!

Both songs were rockin'................the second one especially is off the hook. Sturgill and crew ain't playing - thumping rhythm, horns, slide guitar, SMOKE;

That second song performance - Call to Arms - was fantastic!

I "voted" for "Call To Arms" as my favorite album track of 2016. The album "A Sailor's Guide To Earth" is in my Top 10 of 2016.

I was pretty surprised how much I dug that, what a total throwback to Waylon. It's nice to hear a "country" act that doesn't sound like every other carbon copy stetson-knucklehead clone who sings about bar fights and pickup trucks. That is some horn section. Dude looks like a young Robert Mitchum.

That second song burned! Nice job. I wish he would have played like that when I saw him, I might of actually enjoyed it. As it was, he bored me and I don't really like his voice. But I dug that song and really liked the lost "Ramones" brother who he found to play keys!!

Never heard of that website before, but this made me chuckle:

Was so bummed out last year when I had to miss seeing him. Blood clots suck.
