Strange ABBish coincidence

Was sending a pack of 11 Allman Brothers shows off to a fan in Argentina today. Filling out the customs form, the postal worker gal's name plate read "Rebel Betts". I said cool name, are you related to Dickey Betts? She had never heard of him. Just a strange Allman Brothers mystery moment.

I worked with a high school football program for about 25 years. About 10 years or so ago, we had two brothers on the team - last name of Allman. The Allman brothers playing football! Neither were familiar with the band.

A local restraunteur who is a big wine guy and frequently hosts wine dinners accompanied by either the winemakers themselves or by the owners was telling me about an upcoming event that he was especially excited about.
Richard Betts was coming to town and bringing his top cuvee's from vineyards around the world that he personally selects and oversees the production of. He's not a household name, but most in the industry have deep respect for his work.
Knowing that it was long shot, I nevertheless decided to ask the restaurant owner if it was the same Richard aka "Dickey" Betts of the Allman Brothers, and the guy looked at me like I had two heads. Seemed totally annoyed that I would pose such an idiotic question....
Needless to say I didn't go to that event --- would've been too tempting to ask the man if he played in the Allmans!

I know Matt Allman and his brother Don, both huge ABB fans from way back and faithful members of Helen's Hilton. Matt used to post frequently here, now not so much.
