It seems like over the last few years that there has been a lot of harsh criticism over the way games have been called by the officials, some of it deservedly so. Some recent attention has been brought to this subject during the NCAA Tournament.

I am not trying to play one side or the other, just trying to be objective and open minded and hopefully others can give their thoughts and suggestions to this.

This is my take and I could be totally wrong. I think I was once a couple of years ago!! 😛 😉 😛 Grin 😉

I think by the added use of technology and camera angles and views brings to the forefront to get everything right, which I guess is good. I am not sure that the quality of officiating has gotten worse compared to 20-40 yrs ago, but the technology has became so enhanced in observing and capturing the slightest detail in a play that maybe impossible for a ref to see in a split second and make that definitive correct call. That is not an easy thing to do. I tend to give them a break and thats why there is instant replay to help them. But I also think sometimes there are bad calls that are blatantly obvious with the naked eye that goes unchecked for some reason.

Thoughts anyone?
