Just re-watched this movie from 2012. At the end of the music credits there is the line “Special thanks, Allman Brothers Band.” None of their music is in the movie and they aren’t mentioned. There are some quick glimpses of old photos from music studios but didn’t see any ABB shots. Does anyone know anything about this credit?
By the way, this movie got 50/50 reviews — mostly from critics who couldn’t handle the fact that nothing would have happened if the main character had just told a simple truth early on. But the acting is absolutely first-rate and the withholding of that truth allows for the exploration of deep family relational issues.
Great cast, if nothing else. Maybe they had promised to use ABB music
but had to change course. Interesting.
Sometimes filmmakers (or Producers) give shout outs to people who inspire them or gave them free concert tickets.
