I'm happy Mr. Soul was very impressed with the excellent musicianship on the record. I only listened to Liz Reed and You Don't Love Me and he had very complimentary reactions to the excellent playing from the entire band. He said Liz Reed is a perfomance he could have playing often each day especially while driving.
But Jaimoe said recently what is often overlooked it seems when people talk about those great performances is Gregg's singing.
"People tell me Gregory was the best white blues singer. Bull @!$#. Gregory was one of the BEST blues singers peroid"

It is all subjective.
I dig the modulation Gregory had in his voice, that warm sweet tone gave him a unique authenticity.
My preferences lean more towards Steve Marriott & Chris Youlden.

You mean you prefer Steve Marriott and Chris Youlden over Gregg Allman as a WHITE blues singer or all blues singers?
Of course the Jaimoe interview I saved says Gregory was ONE of the best period. Black or white. But Jaimoe is not saying Gregg is better than say B. B. King or T Bone Walker. Just in the same league.

I prefer them over him regardless of their skin color. Yeah Jaimoe saying, "one of the best blues singers period" pretty much surmised his position on that matter. Thanks for taking out your crayons and drawing a picture that wasn't needed to illustrate the meaning of the quote.

Thank you gotdrumz. I used my new crayons.
Actually I needed clarity as to whether you like Marriott and Youlden better than Gregg Allman or all blues singers black or white.
Sorry about that. Now I know you like Marriott and Youlden better than Gregg Allman and other blues singers too. Carry on:)

Thank you gotdrumz. I used my new crayons.
Was it the 64 box?

Was it the 64 box? 11 blues in there. The 120 box has 19 shades of blue. I use the built in sharpener for my wit.I

Oh I'm pleased this guy really likes At Fillmore East. But two things I noted while he listens to In Memory of Elizabeth Reed when I listened yesterday.
When Duane Allman says "Here is a song Dickey Betts wrote for our second album etc" Mr. Soul man says "Is Dickey Betts the bass player?"
And at the beginning of Dickey's solo Mr. Soul mentions hearing Miles Davis in the opening guitar passage. Then I think it was Duane's solo he says there is that Miles Davis thing again. It couldn't be an accident must be on purpose"
Miles Davis is one of the artists Jaimoe had them listening too often on record and Davis became a big influence on the early Allman Brothers. That was Jaimoe's doings.

IMHO, the people doing the "reaction" videos are not as " cherry " to the tune or band/artist as they play it off to be? I notice a pattern in tunes and bands the more popular reaction channels post.

I'd love to hear Gregg sing Needle and Spoon ala Chris Youlden/Savoy Brown.
