Kudos for mentioning Dewolff. I've been following them since 10 years ago when they were 15 year young lads. I probably have seen them 10 times in the last 2 or 3 years alone. As a matter of fact i gonna see them twice this saturday. An in-store appearance at a local record store and a headliner gig in the evening with support act "The Dawn Brothers" from Rotterdam which have quickly become another Dutch band i dig a lot!

Cheers!

Dewolff should be huge .... as well as some other bands from Europe and Scandinavia. Elder, Orango, Motorpsycho etc

In fact here’s Orango’s cover of “Carry On”

Thanks Dave.

Well it is mostly just me and not so much band. My buddy had recorded a quick version with piano/vocals for me to learn the tune. One take and sent it to me. I heard it so often on my IPod and really liked his vocal. So I got bored and added to it one night and sent it as a surprise to him.

That song is a nice one indeed but maybe mellow for the crowd around here.

This one may work better for tastes around here. From an album that is taking forever to finish. LOL

Wowsers, that sounds top notch, I can hear loads going on there. Nice on all fronts and really nicely mixed too.
We just finished our record too .... well, about to release it, it all takes a frustratingly long time. It has been a big learning curve and I hope it at least wipes it’s face And makes back at least some of the bucket loads of money we’ve put into it.
I’m tempted to sacrifice a little of the quality for quantity next time, we write enough for at least two records a year - taking a year and a half to do just one is really annoying.
Good luck with yours, let us know when it’s out and i’ll nab a copy Smile

Thanks very much Dave. Glad you enjoyed it. I am involved with 3 bands/projects right now. And have played on tunes by two other artists with albums coming out this year.

My wife calls it a R&R Mid-Life Crisis. Ever since I walked away from the music industry and any job remotely related, I have gotten offers. LOL

Without any concept/care of making real money, it is just fun again. Playing live when I want and not because I have to has revitalized me.

When recording an album, I no longer want to shop anything or seek distribution. No business bullsh*t. if it sells enough to pay for itself and got in the hands of those that really want it....well that works for me.

let us know when your album is done. Would be happy to support the cause.

I have always said that it is a shame that we didn't have a section of this Forum where we all shared our music. There are so many really talented musicians on this site especially in the heyday before the troll/Facebook exits. A section for our tunes would interest me far more than a Whipping Post for fighting. 😛

It really feels as if the industry is geared up so that the last people to make money are the artistes themselves. There’s all these people that have slotted themselves into the chain created roles for themselves . I think we’ll do things very differently next time.

Here’s a session from us :

I used to enjoy the Shop Talk forum too - it’s so buried in sub forums here now I think that no one remembers it’s there. Perhaps we should steal a little topic in Anything Goes and post stuff there.

Over the last couple of years, of new (or newish) acts, I think the Revivalists and Chris Stapleton have been the cream of the crop in the genres that I tend to listen to.
