Many listeners cannot hear the difference between uncompressed audio files and MP3s, but when it comes to audio quality, the size of the file isn't (ahem) everything. There are plenty of other ingredients to consider, from the quality of your headphones to the size of the room you're sitting in to, well, your own ears.
Can you hear the difference? Take this quiz to find out. One hint: Turn your volume up.
they give about 1 minute of 6 tracks
for each track there is a mp3 128, mp3 320, and a wav
you pick the best sounding one.
I picked 3 wav, 3 mp3 320, and 0 mp3 128 with my headphones on.
I'm going to try it again with my speakers (they randomly reset it)

Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?

I don't even pretend to be able to tell. My hearing has been bad ever since I was shooting the big guns on navy ships. But that doesn't keep me from enjoying the music. Actually it saves me a lot of money because I don't need high-end audio equipment. 😉

I picked 3 uncompressed.
2 320's.
And picked the 128 on the Suzanne Vega song.
Will I rethink my equipment? No.
Will I stay off the Mule Tracks HD? Maybe.

That's the answer!!!
