In many of his recent pics it seems he has something bulky under his t-shirt which could be
either a back support or a belly band to help out after the hernia surgery. I've always been curious about that.
Likewise, noticed that at his recent show and in several pictures...
I wonder if the removal of the FB posting was due to something simple as he didn't want to (somehow) be seen as endorsing Chik-fil-A. Although that controversy seems to have blown over.

Yesterday, we posted a story on Gregg Allman heading home from the hospital after being treated for an unknown illness that caused him to cancel his tour dates through mid-October.
A statement, attributed to his daughter Brooklyn, had been published by the Bill Graham organization on Facebook and on other sites, and Gregg's son, Devon, had a post on his Facebook page showing his father drinking a milkshake, which had been referenced in the original statement.
Today, we receive a note from Brooklyn Allman stating that she had not released any news on her father. In addition, the post that was on Devon's page has been removed.
We can only assume that there has been an effort by some party to release a false statement on behalf of Gregg's daughter; however, it is unclear if Devon has removed a post that he made or if his account was hacked.
Bottom line, we do not know the current situation with Gregg Allman. We have reached out to both Brooklyn and Devon for statements.

I'm sure the removal was driven by wanting to avoid any potential litigation over the cancelled dates... if he's well enough to slurp a shake he sure as shit well enough to sing me a song! Know what I mean?
I recently saw Devon in Somers Point NJ at a free outdoor show. It was awesome. But after the show he signed for people. I must say he likes to party. hope he learns from dad to be careful he has dads genes.. He is very talented. Hope Gregg gets well. He needs to slow down a tad an play on a limited bases. He did look very well on that big interview with Dan Rather so this is some what of a shock. But it really should not be based on all he has been through in the last few years

I suspect it was just that Brooklyn didn't mean for her statement to be released publicly. Gregg is probably still in a need of medical attention and rest and didn't want his picture out there leading people to believe all was well. Either way, get well Midnight Rider!
That said, this can't be weirder than the very beginning of 2014 with all the mixed messages and premature and contradicted statements from band members about who was in, who was out and if the band was continuing or closing shop.
Keep in mind that Greg is taking anti rejection medication for the liver transplant. That med can weeken the overall immune system. Give Greg's medical history and life style history it could be anything or nothing. Also remember the guys are getting older and with age comes age related health issues. Just keep a good thought for a brother.

A friend of mine who saw GA&F in TN said he had a box of tissues on his keyboard rig and appeared to be wiping/blowing his nose occasionally. Something as simple as a summer cold could turn into something more serious for someone in Gregg's situation. I tend to believe Devon when he said his dad is "a tank." It just takes a bit longer for Gregg to bounce back when he gets sick. Meanwhile, I'm wishing him all the best and look forward to seeing him again in the future. B^)

I've seen Gregg many times over the past 2 years. He always has that box of tissue with him and uses multiple tissues during a show. I think it is a side effect of the liver transplant. Not to say that he could not have a cold right now or allergies but it is typical behavior and nothing unusual. Even a bad case of pneumonia would not have him missing so many shows.

I have been coming here every day now weeks expecting to see bad news. It is like an elephant in the corner. It makes no sense to say there is no way to perform shows for two months but 3 months is definitely on. (????) No updates seems disconcerting. I pray to Creator for good. I have an ominous feeling that I hope is wrong.

Not to defend the Enquirer, but I will. Don't read it, think it is trashy and often (mostly?) wrong. BUT, I am aware they have broke some big stories and thought most knew that. Had to look up which, so here ya go. They were at least big at the time they broke. So not so sure someone should be deemed foolish for just acknowledging a story. Also, maybe they don't "read" it. I saw it from a Google search. Does that make me trashy?

I do not read the enquirer, but it was the only recent update anywhere on GA that I could find and also they have broken a few big stories. My point is that it seems very odd that we cant get any information (JamBase, Relix, etc.) at all on his health status and i don't think it bodes well and I am starting to get bummed!
I hope the Midnight rider is getting a well deserved rest and will be rocking out very soon and I am looking forward to the new album.
well Devon did just take off on a month long european tour. if Gregg was on his deathbed, would Devon leave the country for a month?
Devon posted the picture of his dad with a milkshake thinking it was legit then took it down so I don't think he is with his dad.
My guess is it's hard to turn down a tour if you need the money even with a sick parent.
