Okay, a silly topic i guess:

I was wondering: should the ABB's "An Evening With.....First Set" LP/ Vinyl be in the Guinness Book Of Records?

Well, i always thought that Long Player vinyl had album sides roughly running for 10 tot 25 minutes. I guess one of the lenghiest album sides in my collection is one of Iron Maiden's releases (approx. 25 minutes). I thought that was the maximum of music it could obtain. Otherwise the quality would suffer and the vinyl would easily start skipping etc.

But last week i finally found and excellent looking "An Evening With.....First Set" on one LP. Before that i didn't give it's running time a thought. But this is a lengthy CD for a single disc LP release (ABB's last release on vinyl BTW).....

Well side B has a whopping 38,5 minutes of music (4 songs only)!!!!! Bloody hell......for that reason alone i guess this gem belongs in the freakin' Guinness Book Of Records. 😛 😛 😛

WOW -- have never heard of sides this long b4 -- off top of head, Glass Harp Live At Carnegie Hall 1971, Side II is 28 min IIRC -- An Index of Metals, from 1975's Evening Star album by Robert Fripp/Brian Eno, 28 min or so -- never heard of a 30-much-less 38-39 min side b4 - dig
Cool

I think toward the latter days of vinyl they were able to get the grooves closer together, and hence more playing time per side. I remember there was a sticker on Metallica's "And Justice For All" album that said something like "over one hour of music," and that was a single vinyl disk. My copy of AFE (I was late to the ABB game) was a single vinyl album as well.

Cool -- never saw a single-LP copy of AFE Cool
I have the MFLS versions of AFE and EAP -- the Fillmore package is 2 CDs, while Peach they fit onto 1 CD (gold-plated of course 😮 )
