Yes, I agree. Glad you picked up on that... and I totally believe that Gregg felt that way.

It's very consistent with Derek's "Mountain Jam" story
(one of my 2 favorite stories in your book)

I was fortunate to attend both Gregg Allman Tour NY area shows in 1974 first at Felt Forum then Capitol @ Passaic N.J.
Gregg's solo stuff was different from the "twin guitar" Allman Brothers style in several ways.
Gregg's voice was like the lead instrument. That allowed different style grooves that to me were more soul/r&b influenced.
Saw The Allman Brothers perform at The Moran Theatre in 1998. Then caught the Gregg Allman Band at The Florida Theatre.
