Rolling Stones

Just got an email informing me that The Stones will be touring next year, included was informationÂ
for my AARP pre-sale.  I've heard of Fan Club, Credit Card, Radio Station and a few other promotions but never got one for AARP, wonder if they put aside easy access seats, close to bathrooms - lower levels , things
"us old folks " would appreciate.    Â

Had to laugh when I saw the AARP presale as it really fits the band fan demographics these days. Interesting it is 2 hours earlier than the Stones own presale.
I never joined but now know I shouldn't have thrown out those AARP membership letters I seem to get every month. 🙂Â

just amazing that they’re making plans, keeping it all going - Jagger-Richards, there’s never been a collaboration like theirs
side note, any comments on Hackneyed Diamonds - lost track of Stones after Bridges to Babylon, which I really liked - my sib really likes the new one, we’re long time fans
but yeah, when the AARP comes into the picture, well……..AARP & the Stones, yow bro
hopefully touring doesn’t run them down physically
gotta feeling the shows could become more “be seen at big social event” among high rollers, than a rock n roll show w/rock n roll (Stones) fans
which is cool & the way it should be - they won’t disappointÂ
apologies for the babbling, hopefully it won’t thwart the thread (see WP) & great posts ensue
enjoy the holiday, Alice’s Restaurant & the football🎼🎶✌️

Does anyone know if Chuck is in the band anymore? I've wondered about this. He isn't on the new album at all. There are some big names on the release. Elton John and Benmont Tench (Tom Petty) are on it.

Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

If this doesn't knock a Telecaster out of tune nothing will!!!!Â

@lee Latest thing I could find was from spring of this year and Chuck was still the music director and piano player for the Stones.Â
Not sure why he wasn't in the latest album.Â
Chuck talked about how well Steve Jordon was doing on drums replacing Charlie Watts who was the drummer for 59 years and such a great musician that Steve had big shoes to fill.Â

I read a brief article yesterday that mentioned Karl Denson (sax) and Steve Jordan (drums) with no mention of Chuck at all. That made me wonder if Chuck would be along, too.Posted by: @leeDoes anyone know if Chuck is in the band anymore? @rusty Maybe they dropped Chuck. The latest I could find was at the beginning of the 2023 tour and Chuck was doing that tour so he said.Â
Mick and Keith are the Rolling Stones but they did let Ronnie Wood have a full membership position and that is it. Just three of them.Â
From what I understand when the Allman Brothers Band quit Gregg, Butch and Jaimoe were the only official members with voting control. Everyone else was a hired hand so to speak.
I think Dickey was bought out during the arbitration for well over a million dollars.Â
Last I looked at celebrity net worth Gregg was worth $15 million at his death, Butch Trucks zero ( that is very sad to me), Jaimoe $2 million and Dickey was $40 million.Â
Most of the money in the ABB made its way to Dickey's pocket. Must have been song writing royalties that put Dickey far ahead of Gregg. But I remember in about 1983 it was in the music papers that Gregg had to file bankruptcy. So he may had to start over in the 1980's.Â
From what I read Butch was worth about $5 million but he got into a big jam with the Internal Revenue Service and eventually had to sell a $2 million dollar home for less than what is was worth to pay off a tax lean then Butch got another notice from the IRS for a large sum of additional back taxes and it was enough to wipe him out. Unfortunately he snapped and shot himself in front of his wife.Â
Melinda may have still had their place in France. I hope so.Â
I knew TWO men and a few years apart were suicides here in my area because of the IRS. Both had started their own business and somehow didn't get Uncle Sam his proper cut.Â
