Sorry to hear of his passing, much too young, on March 1.

Jules loved Duane and did a masterful job of syncing some available Fillmore video with sound.

Condolences to his family.

Bloody hell....terrible news indeed. Sincere condolences to Lorna, his family and friends including everybody involved in his great band Northsyde. Was about to see them again next month, on saturday the 20th of April for their annual Easter weekend concert at a bar called Reunië (Reunion) in Geleen, Netherlands. Had a nice chat with him last year after the show. Really an avid Duane fan.

That's terrible news - RIP Jules and condolences to all who knew him. I didn't know him personally, but he was the poster here who most opened my eyes to the brilliance of Jack Pearson - Jack was unknown to me when I got into this band and Jules' posts and videos about Jack were a big driver in my giving Jack a long, long listen - and he's now one of my favorite players ever. I owe him for that,

Jules jamming with Jack Pearson. Also, Jules' wife Lorna singing along.

Jules, you were much too young to be taken by that mother****er called cancer. I hope you're up yonder swapping some sweet licks with Duane and others. Rest well, brother. 🙁

Very sad to hear. I always enjoyed Jules' contributions and energy here. Didn't know him, or that he had been fighting cancer, so all the more surprised to hear this terrible news. Condolences to his family, friends and bandmates.

Damn. Didn't know him, but this one hurts. For years he was one of our best posters. I always thought of him as our European Randy Stephens. Prayers for his family

Sad news to hear...I actually found this site by first finding slidejules info on Duane way back when I first got on to the internet and didn't even know a site for the ABB existed.

RIP Slidejules

Living in the London area, I was fortunate to see Northsyde fairly regularly - never often enough though. Nothing fancy, bars and small clubs usually, and they had a loyal following.

Jules was a fantastic player and bandleader, who always seemed that he should have been playing on a bigger stage. If you're unfamiliar with him, I urge you to seek out any of the excellent videos on YouTube.

He always seemed to be having a ball on stage and he loved to jam with anyone and everyone.

I was shocked to hear that he had passed just after his 40th birthday. He will be much missed by his family, friends, bandmates and the many who admired his music and spirit.

This is sad news. Heartbreaking for his family.
I'm sorry for their loss.

Years ago when the Gregg anthology came out
he was desperate for a copy. I just sent him one,
he was such a fan.

I only wanted to pay it forward having received a copy on
VHS of clips of the only Duane footage there was from some sweet
Lady on the net. She asked for nothing in return. Sat there rapt,
in front of it.

I'm sorry Jules. Fly on over the rainbow bridge, brother.

May his family find peace.

Bob B let me know this a few days ago and it's weighed on me since. I never met Jules in person, but we connected on the Listserv, here and on some ABB related Facebook groups. What a super super positive, optimistic guy. And uber talented guitarist. So glad he got to play with one of his guitar idols in Jack and that Bob captured it (it was 2 hours of playing together).

He was a young guy too. Sad.

He released nothing but positive charges into the universe.....good model to follow. RIP Slidejules.

Indeed very sad news. It seems this site has terrible luck for losing all the best guys/gals far too early.

Many great discussions about Jack and guitar in general going way back.

Likely welcomed by Duane for a ride to the Heavenly Jam. RIP

I've been off-line for a week and just got back.....I am stunned. Met Jules
and his family at the Beacon several years back. He was just a kid then. Hell
of a nice guy. Man, don't know what else to say.

FAUHHUCK. Really upset to read this. Like many here, I never met him personally, but we share(d) adoration of Jack Pearson. When I stumbled across those two YouTube videos of Jack and Jules, I emailed him and he was so generous in telling the story of meeting Jack.

I also recall almost 20 years ago when he and I traded a few ABB shows around 2000. I had some Jack shows, and that was all I needed to get an email from Jules.

Rest in peace, brother. Here's one for you:

I see via Jules FB page, that he is being laid to rest today.

I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing earlier this month. He was an enormously talented dude and just a heck of a nice guy. That has been made even more abundantly clear by the outpouring of love from his friends and family on his FB page. I am so sorry for their, and our, huge loss. You will be remembered Jules, you made an impact.

A friend of Jules made this tribute for him. I thought it was worth sharing here, as everyone says their goodbye's to Jules today:

Rest in Peace, Brother.
