Farewell to the actress best known as Nurse Ratched in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" - but who really had a lot more depth than that.  Ms. Fletcher and I are connected via our high school alma mater - Birmingham Alabama's, Ramsay High School.  Ramsay was a fertile ground for talent.  Among the alums:  Louis Fletcher, Wayne Rogers (M*A*S*H (tv) actor and investment guru), Muscle Shoals "Swamper", Barry Beckett, Baker Knight (guitarist and writer of several Elvis hits), Vaughn Mancha (Hall of Fame football player) Fannie Flagg (actress - who lived in my great aunt's basement while in college), Roy Wood Jr. (comedian) ... those are just the ones I can recall!  I guess I just never drank from the right water fountain or something.

Louise was so good as Nurse Ratched that many movie goers were just turned off by her!  She was the child of deaf parents and learned to speak from a hearing aunt.  She was an inspiration.
