Back then I was working third shift at IBM. I came out of work at 8:00 AM and saw the newspaper headlines in the newspaper machine window.

While sitting in a classroom in high school the Principal broadcast the sad news over the intercom, kids started crying and even some of the teachers followed suit.

I remember the walk into Central Park a few days later for the memorial and the worldwide silence.
We descended on Central Park from every direction with a purpose.
Thousands and thousands of people from every direction heading to the bandshell as if we could change what had happened.
It was all so surreal.

I had hoped for a reunion for many years only to lose his incredible talents.
