R.I.P. He gave me more than I could have ever given him.

I feel so sorry for Devon, losing his mother and father in such a short time.

RIP Gregg, thanks for everything

Brutal news.
Gregg: Your accomplishments speak for themselves. I was lucky to have seen you so many times and you never disappointed. Thank you.
RIP Gregg 🙁

Rest in Peace, Gregg... thank you for all the music. All the ABB shows are some of my most cherished memories. You changed lives and got many of us through tough times, and made the good times even sweeter.

embraced by Duane (finally ) his mom and all who were waiting to greet him 🙁 🙁 🙁

Sad news.
Condolences to the family.

From the Washington Post: His vocals bore a rough-edged rasp that Mr. Allman gradually refined into one of the most distinctive sounds in American music: a blend of Tennessee twang, traditional soul and gospel, and a hard-won sense of the blues.

I am so very sad by this news.
My deepest condolences to Gregg's family and fiancé. Gregory gave us, his fans, so very much of himself. We cherished him and will always be so very grateful.

pick up your gear and gypsy roll on

Gregg, just have to thank you for such a great contribution to music. It changed my life for the better and for that I will be eternally grateful. It's been a tough week: I live at the end of a dead end road and my neighbor across the street lost her dad a few days ago and my next door neighbor on the other side passed away, too. RIP, Gregg.

Just heard the news from a friend. Effing devastated, gonna raise a glass or two for the greatest white blues singer ever. Finally reunited with brother Duane and Mama A. RIP bro, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the incredible music.

Feel like I just got hit in the gut from a Mike Trout HR swing. This hurts really bad.
Back in August 1990, I was fortunate to be allowed backstage after an ABB show at the Pacific Amphitheater in Costa Mesa CA. Really the only two members of the ABB I talked to at any length (other than just "Hello" & a handshake from Jaimoe, Warren & Allen) were Gregg & Butch.

🙁 Very sad news.
I am grateful I got a chance to see him live so many times literally growing up hearing his music as my mom had the Allmans first record and other LPs we went to shows, and then I went to Allmans shows with friends in highschool and college, and in my 20s.
I did write Gregg a letter thanking him for all the joy he brought my family and friends through the decades.

Will the Circle be Unbroken
I feel numb ,Rest In Peace brother Gregg and thank you for all the amazing music .

As much as I could see this one coming it still hurts. Real bad. Thank you for the joy you have provided me since 1969. RIP brother Gregg.

I'm crushed. The only words I can think of right now is Gregg and Duane are back together for eternity now. Thank you Gregg for the music and memories, for the rest of my life not a day will go by without what the two Allman Brothers have brought to me through their life and music. RIP my brother Gregg.

So out of my two all time favorite bands they only original members still touring are Jaimoe and Robby Krieger (who is still great but his son who channels Jim is a total asshole.)
This one is hard; but the end of the touring band after the 45th makes it somehow easier to take. The music (in its full incarnation) stopped then for me.
RIP Gregg. The Doors first changed my life/mind when I was around 11. Four years later your voice and the music changed it even more.
