Very very sad news indeed. Huge BC fan here. How cruel life can be considering the newly formed band.

Oh wow what a bummer. Eddie was the perfect keyboardist for the Crowes. I looked forward to catching him with Magpie Salute somewhere next year. RIP

Man, what a bummer. He was great in the Crowes. They really jumped several levels from the first record to Southern Harmony with the addition of Eddie and Marc Ford. The brothers Robinson really picked the two perfect parts for the direction they wanted to head in.

The image that's seared in my mind though is Page/Crowes 2000 at NJ PAC. They were playing In the the light which is probably my favorite deep Zep cut. That electric piano break in the middle... man. Eddie just nailed it and there was a light that cast a huge shadow of him behind the stage as he was playing it. in my memory after all this time....

Love his sound on Amorica.

One other time. I'm in a cab one Sunday morning in NYC. The pre 9/11 wild days. Riding down 2nd ave after several bloody marys . There's Eddie walking down the street.. Me and Jim who used to post here quite often, immediately start in with Eddie !!! you're the best !! when's the next tour ?? He was befuddled and amused people recognized him. He just threw up his hands like "I don't know man" ! whenever they tell me we're playing, I'm there...

Like everyone else, was looking forward to seeing him back with Rich and Marc..

During the nineties Eddie used to hang out at Sully's a blues bar in Dearborn Mich. All of the blues masters came through town and Eddie would always sit in with them. But the best times were when the shows ended there was an old piano in the bar area were Eddie would set up shop and play and tell stories until closing time. The man could play everything !! Man I miss those days 🙁 RIP Mr. Harsch

Gorman's tribute is very touching. Some of the stories are hilarious.
