Growing up in Madison, WI, there was not much of a local music scene. The city has attracted bigger acts in the past decade, but for decades Clyde Stubblefield was it as far as local music went. James Brown's drummer, one of the greatest, funkiest of them all, was the biggest act in town. You could catch him any week. I always thought that was cool as hell, I know he meant a lot to the city.
