Bad Company will tour with Rich Robinson, formerly of the Black Crowes, after founding guitarist Mick Ralphs decided he wasn’t up for the band’s upcoming tour with Joe Walsh.
“I’ve decided to sit this upcoming U.S. tour out,” guitarist Mick Ralphs said in a news release. “The travel required to do these dates is something I’m just not feeling up for at the moment. I’m glad the band found Rich to take my place for this run, I’m sure he’ll be great.”

I hope Mick is feeling ok, such an underrated player, but Chris will fit in perfectly and will make Bad company a little more refreshing.

Very cool!! Sorry for Mick, but I am a HUGE Rich Robinson fan.

I saw they are going on tour with Joe Walsh and they are coming here locally. When I first heard , I had no desire on going. I have scratched that itch a long time ago with BC, still like them, but classic rock radio have beaten them into the ground here in Indy. Unfortunatley since Paul Kosoff has passed and Andy died last year, there never could be any sort of Free tour. I prefer them over BC.

I like Joe alot, pre his "goofball" rock. If he were just to do James Gang and Barnstorm that would be nice, but that ain't gonna happen. Would like for him to revisit that era/style again with some new music.

I am interested in seeing Rich with BC, now. I would like to hear how he will play/honor those songs. I assume it will be pretty straight forward, but maybe a few different things here and there.

Being a big Rich fan I am excited to see him branch out and be in another band besides the Crowes to showcase his talents and colborate with other artists. Really like his solo work, and I was not to heart broken when the Crowes annouced they were done. Anymore I would rather hear him solo or maybe with another group like Company.

I would like to see Warren go away from the Mule for awhile and his solo stuff and maybe join a band or collaborate with other artists as far as writing and creating new music. It would be intereted to see him maybe more in the guitar player role, but still contribute writing ideas. It might freshen things up.

Joe Walsh Barnstorm Turn to Stone

Comin' Down - Joe Walsh

Tend My Garden/Garden Gate - James Gang

Rich Robinson - Blackwaterside (solo)

Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Nothing against Bad Company, and I'm sure it is a good payday, but I think this is a waste of Rich Robinson talent. From his comments, he talks of his love of Free, not even Bad Co.

Unless he does something different to spark the band, it's just playing the greatest hits the same way each night.

Hopefully this doesn't delay his solo album.

How will this tour sell? I know the Joe Walsh/Bob Seger pairing didn't do very well in the mid-Atlantic market a couple years ago. I don't see any dates in this area so I'm guessing they will be playing Wolftrap. That season hasn't been released yet as Wolftrap hustles to get more members. They hold up the public announcement until after the pre-sales.

I love Rich as well. And despite what this appears to some, it's probably a great opportunity for Rich to showcase his talents to a wider audience. And ... Just possibly an audition for something else? Jimmy Page is supposedly putting a band together ... both Paul and Rich have played with Jimmy ... hmmm ... now wouldn't that be nice? Wareagle, Paul Rodgers and BC are one of rock's all time greats. So ... delaying Rich's solo album? It's probably financing it. Cool
