Remember Lowell George (April 13, 1945 – June 29, 1979}

We lost a great one on this day in 1979.
R.I.P. You are truly missed
(Rocket in my Pocket)

Great talent, greatly missed.
No more prophetic line in rock music than from Fatman In The Bathtub:
"Don't want no speedballs 'cuz I might die tryin' 'em"
Such a waste.
"Is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?"

One of the all time greats who left too soon!

Thanks Lowell for all the music you left us. In regular rotation

2 degrees in BeBop
A PHD in swing
He's a master of rhythm
He's a rock n roll king

ain't nobody coulda rocked the white overalls like him, and that sweaty mug...

we have seen different on some things over the years, but our love for Lowell is a true commonality, right on bro.
here is a song that just "gets me" every time, a 2 minute gem

Man I just love Lowell. He has the same soul in his singing that Duane had in his playing. Of course he was a fine player also. RIP Lowell, Truly missed

Right on Tony, music is magic.
Another two minute gem, my favorite Lowell tune, "Sailin' shoes"...this version in studio with Linda Ronstadt....gives me da goose bumps on every listen...

Amen!
Like all the really great ones accessibly unique.
Love his music.
