Looks like mostly previously released on One More Try. Only one I don't recognize is the live "Melissa" from the 1974 tour. Still, it's great that people who didn't get to pick up One More Try before it got pulled get another chance to hear some of these great demos and rough cuts. Some of them are my favorite Gregg material, I still listen to them often.

Hi John, hope all is well- thanks for posting this..it's looking good at 34 tracks and 2 and 1/2 hours.
as Gregg would say, "It's got everything a good man needs"

Looks like The Gregg Allman Tour is also getting re-released, but not in an expanded edition, which is a shame. There is a lot of great material from that tour.

Thanks Phil. Semi-retied now, so enjoying my time. Today is the day I've been waiting for to listen to all of the music I've collected over the past 45 years. Recording lots of live shows, but mostly close to home and largely Canadian artists. Hope all well with you. Feel free to PM me your coordinates and I will touch base.
I agree wholeheartedly with porkchopbob on the GA Tour. They should put all of the songs that were played on the new release, including the Cowboy tracks.

Agree.
I was at Felt Forum show. Bunch of kids thought they were going to get LAFE.
So they boo Gregg as he's leaving stage.
I had great seat and a perfect view of him as he flipped then "the bird". Classic!
That show was so great I scraped what little money I had and drove to see them the next night at The Capitol Theatre in Jersey City, N.J. Bought a ticket at the box office.
Cowboy was saying what a great crowd we were.
Great times!

Is it a re-release or a remaster?
Same question on "One More Try".
I have both but would dig upgraded audio quality if available.
I saw 2 shows back to back of The Gregg Allman Tour back in the day. Very special shows.

One More Try is not getting re-released. However, a lot of the material on this Laid Back Expanded Edition was previously appeared on One More Try. Both Laid Back and Tour are getting re-released in remastered editions.
From the HTN Homepage:
GREGG ALLMAN’S MASTERFUL DEBUT SOLO ALBUM LAID BACK TO BE REMASTERED AND RELEASED AS EXPANDED TWO-DISC DELUXE EDITION AND REISSUED ON 180-GRAM VINYL
DELUXE EDITION FEATURES MORE THAN TWO DOZEN BONUS TRACKS OF RARITIES INCLUDING UNRELEASED DEMOS, OUTTAKES, ALTERNATES AND NEW MIXES
LONG-OUT-OF-PRINT LIVE ALBUM THE GREGG ALLMAN TOUR TO BE REISSUED ON VINYL
FOR FIRST TIME IN OVER THREE DECADES

This remastered Laid Back looks great - thanks for the heads up. just pre-ordered

Okay guys, somewhat confused. I don't have the One More Try in front of me to check. How may of the bonus tracks do I already have since I have One More Try?
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

Probably all but 1
"Melissa" from the 1974 tour

The Peach-O-Gram which I received only mentioned a new vinyl release of The Gregg Allman Tour, nothing about a new CD which seems very strange.

For the Laid Back vinyl, I have the 2015 100% analog reissue, cut by Ryan K. Smith, at QRP. Vinyl is dead quiet, SQ is breathtaking.

Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

This is exciting! Laid Back is one of my very favorite records of all-time. I was going to wait, I figured this two disc remaster with all the archival stuff would be around $30. Then I clicked on the Amazon link (through my Peach-O-Gram) and to my surprise it was $19.95. My order is in!

LAID BACK DELUXE EDITION TRACK LIST
Yeah, we'll see. I saw that and am skeptical. Why would they release alternate mixes of Laid Back tunes on One More Try, only to go to the trouble of selecting and releasing different alternate mixes on this Deluxe Edition? Believe me, I'll be happy if they are new. Still plenty of reasons to get excited about it.

Maybe I’ll buy Tour lp...underrated album in my opinion . This Laid Back release is great news for those who don’t have One More Try. Some of my favorite GA...essential

Piece from Rolling Stone about it.

Here's a preview of an unreleased "These Days" that definitely wasn't on One More Try.

"a cover of Elvis Presley’s “I Feel So Bad.”"
Haha, guess they handed this article to the intern.

THANK YOU for your post! I don't buy reissues / remasters because too often (usually) it is unclear if any digital is introduced in the process. A secondary reason is remix often is too compressed and pumped up. So thanks for lead on Analogue Productions and Laid Back in particular. It appears this outfit works with original tapes and is pure. I may try them.

1973 was THE year for the ABB and Gregg. Brothers and Sisters was number 1 and sold 4 million copies and went Platinum and Laidback was number 13 and sold north of 500,000 and went Gold. Those albums made Phil Walden wealthy and the ABB's long Brothers and Sisters tour was sold out in every city.
Unlike the Rolling Stones, Eagles, Pink Floyd etc, The Allman Brothers was a super group just that one year. They couldn't keep it going.
I saw Gregg solo in 1974. Once with the strings and once that fall without. I dont remember Jaimoe being there on the fall 1974 tour. Just Bill Stewart on drums.
Saw the ABB twice in summer of 1974 and they were sell out shows but not ss hot as 1973. Those Chuck/Lamar shows from the ABB in 1973 were smoking hot.

we'll see. i thought on one more try most of them were different takes though right not different mixes?
Yes, they were early mixes from different early takes. I think we’ll just have to hear this material to confirm.

you must not buy cd's often anymore. usually 2 cd deluxe sets like this are around $22 max . usually they are closer to $18

WARNING ON LAID BACK PRE-ORDER THOUGH AMAZON:
I did the pre-order and then received an email from Amazon, "Welcome to Amazon Prime." Read the fine print. At least as I see it, the only way to do the pre-order through Amazon at least right now is to sign up for Amazon Prime which also gets you free 2-day shipping. I didn't notice that when I ordered. I canceled the order and also cancelled the Amazon Prime membership. Why? Because I don't want Amazon doing a $12.95 charge on my debit card every month after the free one month trial period. I also do not want to go through the hassle of having to remember to cancel my membership. And at this point, the free one month trial would have only put me through August 13th and the CD release date isn't until August 30th.
I can order the new Laid Back release after it is released on August 30th. Hopefully an Amazon Prime membership is not required by then to order. If it is, I'll simply go to my local brick and mortar music store (I'm lucky enough to have two within two miles of me) and pick it up there.

Looks like Grandpa clicked the wrong button.

Sound like smartass grandson doesn't know that Prime membership is the only way to order the Laid Back remaster at least right now..........

Nope. I preordered without Amazon Prime.
