Not the first Allman Bros song used on the show... I think Statesboro Blues was also used in a previous episode. I wonder how royalties work for use in a tv show etc... The "band" in the show was playing the song rather than using the actual ABB soundtrack.

I would say that is only for Dickey the writer.

Guess it's nice to find out you made some money the other day without knowing it.

Gregg and Kim (if he is still on his 5%) will get something as they also used Waylon Jenning's version of Midnight Rider in episode 6.

Never been a big fan of Sylvester Stallone but I enjoyed his performance in Tulsa King. I liked the scene in episode 2 when Dwight (Stallone) is stoned in the back of the car and Statesboro Blues comes on the radio "Now that's what I call music, turn it up, turn it up!"

@crosseyedcat That is right. Kim said Gregg had written the music but got stuck on the words and Kim suggested one line to help Gregg. Gregg used it. Later Kim said he told Gregg he felt he should get a cut of the writing royality. Gregg agreed but he had to bug Gregg about it for a few weeks but Gregory finally let the publishing company know he would take 95 percent of the money generated by the song and 05 percent will go to Kim Payne.

Guess Kim would have failed to get a piece of the action if he had gone to Duane Allman. It didn't work for Butch Trucks and In Memory of Elizabeth Reed.

Just heard a Tedeschi Trucks song used in a Chevy truck (irony perhaps) commercial.

"Is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?"
