I love Ritchie's Blackmore's instrumental work SO MUCH.

And, while of course, with Purple he had some potent fire-breathing instrumentals like "Wring That Neck" and "A200" and the Green Bullfrog side thing (and the epic portions of "Lazy" and "Mandrake Root,"), with Rainbow, he got to do more melodic pieces like "Blackmore's Blues" and "Weiss Heim" and "Maybe Next Time."

I remember wishing that he would just do an instrumental album a la Jeff Beck, but it might also be true that Blackmore's soulful instrumentals really pop because they appear in the middle of hard rock albums.

I love his solo at the end of "Not Responsible".
