R.I.P. Marty Balin

Jefferson Airways has lost one of its finest pilots.

Bummed to hear this -- It's No Secret was playing on the radio this morning --
among the many, Caroline is my favorite song Marty sings on
RIP sir

RIP Mr. Balin one of the great voices in rock.
"If only you believe in Miracles..........so would I"

Huge Marty Balin fan here. I always think of Marty as one of the only people who stood up the the Hells Angels at Altamont. crazy day. RIP

Great vocalist, sensitive songwriter (from the love ballad "Today", to the call to action "Volunteers", to the sensual "Miracles"). Deserving of a medal in heroism for actions taken and wounds inflicted at the battle of Altamont. Miss you, Marty.

I only saw Marty once....and it really wasn't a long time ago. Went to see Hot Tuna at the Beacon on 12/14/14 for what was billed as Jack's 70th Birthday Bash (although it was not actually his birthday or even near, but anyway...) and Larry Campbell and Theresa Williams were there and Marty Balin was listed as a special guest. It was a real treat when they did a mini Airplane set and I got to see Marty sing Plastic Fantastic Lover and Volunteers among others. Was a great night.
I feel old.

RIP. Loved Marty and early Airplane.
Jorma comments on the loss.
Now we are three.

Saw Jefferson Airplane at the Electric Factory in Philly 1968 or 1969. A huge influence in my music journey that continues to this day. Thank You!

A great one
RIP

I remember hearing "Drivin' Me Crazy" on the radio years ago by Bodacious DF with Marty Balin on vocals.
I had to have the album and my friend Sue and I went to Rasputin's in Berkeley who specialized in used and/or hard to find vinyl. Still have it.
Thank you for the music, Marty Balin.
