Jane Little, R.I.P. Died on stage 2 weeks ago, doing what she loved best, knew best..performing on String Bass with Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
Jane had received the honor of being longest serving symphony player in Guinness Records in early February, 2016, shortly after her 87? birthday. A life well lived.
She survived her husband Warren, former principle flute with A.S.O. by some years.
My wife took us to her memorial Sunday 5/22 held at symphony Hall. It was said in one testimony that she looked forward to retiring to her vacation home in mountains of North Carolina.
A loving and more touching memorial was given by fellow bassist, Michael Kurth.
I am not so adept at copy/pasting links but more info regarding her remarkable musical history and tenure with A.S.O.is on internet .
After high school, I took private lessons from her in early 1970's.
All I can say behind my tears is ,"You Gotta Let Your Soul Shine"... A life well lived, Jane Little. May you rest in everlasting peace....
Saw this on one of the Sunday morning shows last week. To think she passed during a performance on stage, I think it was the encore at the end of the show?
Would like to think she is in those North Carolina mountains now.
Too many times death comes before those retirement dreams.

Ironically, my wife and I are trying to relocate to Western North Carolina. I retired a couple of years ago and need a new day-job to better save toward actualizing our dreams. I am having difficulty getting an interview if any notice at all. Life is short..tick-tock.
As a musician and bass player, it is even more difficult to get paying gigs wherever. Hoping I can land a job, move us up there and add my bass to the music of the mountains.
